  1. Obviously a man with some sense, probably wont last long in the job then!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. .222 it is then, you know it makes sense
  3. And I will bet a hefty chunk of change that your friend has deer as his good reason? But try getting a .243 for fox only, some forces will allow it, a shooting pal down south had a .243 for fox only, for ages before having deer added to his ticket, according to Derbyshire .243 is too big for fox, but a .22-250 is fine, well to me if its a safe shot for a .22-250 its a safe shot for a .30-378
  4. My friend in Derbyshire has LR conditioned against fox. So does everyone else in Derbyshire... Yeah my point was, Derbyshire are a really good force. Haha, unless you want a .243 for foxes lol.
  5. Well if you are set on getting a hornet, and reloading, a Lee kit and a few bits and bobs will give you everything you need, but with hornet reloading the Lee factory crimp die, and case flare die are a must to load relly accurate ammo, I still say get the .222 it is no louder than a hornet, uses only a bit more powder, fires the same .224 diameter bullet, is super accurate, and you can stretch things another 100 yards on a hornets max range if you need, but up to you pal.
  6. Post what the hell you like dude
  7. Brilliant little fox round, but here is the fly in the ointment, factory ammo is expensive, and with the exception of Hornady 35 grain vmax, is pretty crap, so unless you are happy to pay through the nose for generally poor ammo, reloading is the way forward with a hornet, and for that reason, unless you are happy reloading, I would suggest the superb .222, as there is a plethora of excellent factory ammo for it from all the major manufacturers, and you have the benefit of being able to shoot small deer too, should you wish.
  8. Yes before the now fashionable aolq my force would not put fox condition against any rimfire, however just over the border in Derbyshire, everyone had a fox condition against .22 lr
  9. Nikon Prostaff, or Monarch with side focus, crystal clear superb optics, and build quality, job done
  10. And we are off again I remember reading an article by BASC, in it they state that if you have vermin as a condition on your cert, "it is highly unlikely that any prosecution would arise from a person shooting a fox with a .22 rf as foxes are widely accepted as vermin" also if you get the aolq condition then again fox would not be a problem as they are legal quarry, it is up to you mate but although you point out getting a .223 etc is additional expense, it is also a very good fox calibre, but I would have a chat with your feo as suggested first.
  11. No doubt you will get some c**t telling you that is wrong, because it has not been pissed on by a naterjack toad when the moon is waxing, sounds ok to me dude, crack on
  12. With any telemetry, get on high ground to get a signal, work from there, but use fieldcraft, watch the crows, maggies, obviously when you are looking for a bird not just a tag
  13. They are shite, buy a Nikon prostaff and see what value for money is all about
  14. You are all girls, just grab the thing, if its on it will sting lol.
  15. Drugs only became illegal when poor people could get them
  16. That sounds like a good deal for someone if it shoots straight
  17. I used to keep pigs, one day rushing round in the rain to get them fed, I bent down to put some feed in the trough, my forehead touched the wet electric fence, oh my F***ing life, it very nearly knocked me out, wont be doing that again in a hurry
  18. Looks good that, might have to treat myself
  19. Not legally you cant, only roe I am afraid, minimum 100 grain bullet, min velocity 2,450 fps, min muzzle energy 1750ftlbs for anything other than roe in Scotland.
  20. Excellent choice mate, you wont go wrong with a Howa
  21. Went out earlier to see if charlie wanted to play, he did touched my sticks on the electric fence, bloody hell made me jump
  22. Or get the one with inbuilt battery that you charge up, no wires, connections to come undone and no bloody battery swinging about when you jump over a gate
  23. Good offer there pal, filter all the dicks out and you should get a good man to shoot with
  24. I have heard them rant on about the legislation been such a good thing, because it stops the lads out for a nights foxing with a .22cf shooting a roe under the lamp, fine! But why not extend that to Muntjac or Cwd??????? Are roe far more important than the two other small deer that can be shot with a .22cf in England and Wales? What a load of hogwash, all dreamed up by some pompous old fart in the Bds, unless of course roe in England are so much bigger and tougher than roe in Scotland? Well I have shot roe in both England and Scotland, and I really do struggle to see any difference
  25. Another sermon comes to its close, and yet another step towards the light
