Had to tell my daughter if she's not asleep soon she will get a lump of coal in her stocking. Wife's had a few too many and is now unconscious in bed lol It's going to be a long wait for my daughter to go to sleep so I can sneak in with her stocking....downgrading to beer so I don't pass out

It shouldn't be about money and stress, I hate that aspect of Xmas but we try to keep it traditional it's about giving not receiving and a time to spend together as a family. Having said that I will be glad to see the back of this f*cked up year

Rib of beef enough to feed 6 or 7 at least....there's only myself and my daughter who eat meat lol If I can be bothered I'll cut it in half and freeze one, if not the dog will be getting a treat tomorrow. The first charity advert I see begging for money and trying making me feel guilty will get a photo of the dog enjoying it on Twitter

That's not poaching. That's being a prick. Honestly I didn't think that sort of thing ever happened....naive? Yes probably! No need to do it. It's just for spite. As said pheasants are ten a penny when the shooting starts. Go to the right shoot and they will give you plenty of free birds, saves them burying them Thats a bigger crime in my book, all that food wasted. Why don't they give it to old peoples homes etc?

At the start of the season game dealers were paying £1.00 a brace, one of the shoots I go to they're paying 27 pence a brace (yesterday) and many shoots are getting nothing for them with the game dealers offering to pick them up for free. a guy I know runs a big shoot on the Cotswolds and most of the birds get buried after the shoot if the beaters don't want them, I can remember the days I got a £1.00 a trout, nowadays I give them away, a 1000 birds would cost the estate that lost them much money but the person that took them would earn more working in McDonald's Yeh true you wouldn't get muc

Watch the dispatches documentary called Fighting the Taliban Also if you can stand him the Ross Kemp docs seem pretty good although it would be nice if he would just not talk Plenty of footage to be found on youtube, it's crazy the conditions there were fighting in. I've always been curious about what ranges they are being engaged at, you can never see what they are shooting at (suppressing fire no doubt) and it's hard to gauge distance on film.
