I think it people don't understand them, I've seen dogs with more brain then their owners and read a hunting situation better than the person involved, personally I like just enough brain so they know the score but not enough they start thinking or making there own decisions very fine line. Plus most are used to sighthounds or terrier bull blood that bit more tunnel vision and hunting style then they try it with a more heavier collie type and break them, and that's my opinion on the ones I've seen start get fussy or stale on game it was the owners that have caused it ( not talking about the ov

Tbh I ain't one for commenting to much on litters, But theses really do stand out. Iam a one dog man and I've one here just coming into to his prime and don't like a house full of retired dogs the same age. Pity it anit 3/4 year down the line

Always liked that trigger dog, Capable write all over him. Old Sal looked a nice type as well dogs for anything types day or night. Forget x,s or breeds. Get a pup off stuff that's doing what quarry your after and you'll no go far wrong. The two you mentioned are the opposite end of the scales like dotty said get something mid range everythings covered think about it

Sounds like you just need to channel his drive/prey drive. Id start giving him work by the sounds of it. He'll steady up with time could be his teenage stage coming through, you've stuck with him this long few more months wont hurt.... out on his own just you and him bit of game and crack on imo....
