  1. Some lovely little mixed packs on here!
  2. really like that one on the left, it'd be well easy to make aswell.
  3. Have a great Christmas everyone!

  4. That doesn't actually make any sense. If his dog tried to attack another dog then yes, but it didn't, so why is it a case of practice what you preach?
  5. are you sure there are rabbits there pal? how do you know? sometimes it appears that there are definitely rabbits in the warren and there isn't. Do you use a marking dog? If they are young ferrets you might be throwing them in at the deep end a little if you're trying to work big warrens. My advice would be either get out with someone experienced, use a dog that you know will mark well so you know for a fact the rabbits are there, or if neither of these are available get out there at first light with your ferrets, walk up to the rabbits so you actually see them going to ground and the

  7. IMHO, if you're working with purse nets then use jills or your hob will just be draggin the net back into the hole every time it appears, pain in the ass. If you're bolting to dogs or long nets then hobs will get them moving quicker but both will do the job fine, you might have to dig a bit more with a hob, but be very quiet and they'll usually bolt first.
  8. just out of curiosity, why on earth did you take a lab ferreting if you've got a lurcher?
  9. Fantastic looking dogs snifferboy, all three of them!!!
  10. never heard of that band before, are they good?
  11. Give it a month and the Warrener will have one done . and two minutes into the video his whippet will have shook the shite out of it and then refused to give it back
  12. I always do that when I look at prank clips....same when I look at fail clips! bloody youtube!
  13. on a serious note it would be quite entertaining watching one of them play fighting with the ferrets!
  14. get a brussels griffon....they're so small that if it gets on your tits you can flush it down the toilet when she's not looking
  15. open it in picture editor, resize it until it's less than 200k. Either that or upload onto photobucket and copy the image code onto here.
  16. I can see why it might seem like a good idea, and it certainly wouldn't do any harm. But just take your pup for walks and focus on the basic training and when it's physically mature enough introduce it to quarry. You don't need to be doing anything fancy to get it ready for hunting....hunting is as natural as it gets for a hunting dog, so just let your pup be a pup, train it to be relatively obedient and when it's ready let it be a hunter, simple as that!
  17. Jills more likely to be more nippy with people IMO, hobs more likely to kill underground due to more size and power. Jills handier as they're smaller, so you can carry more of them around with you. I like to have a hob, but I always think they're a bit overkill for ferreting. If you only need jills to bolt rabbits I don't see the point in using big powerful hobs (in most circumstances).....however, if you've got a big warren, or a warren where rabbits are reluctant to bolt, a big hob will usually get there arses flying out of there a lot quicker than jills. I've got quite a nice lit
  18. If your hob wasn't interested in attacking things with much force then you must have had a pretty lame hob pal! IMO, hobs are a bit more laid back with people, but they certainly don't lack when it comes to aggression with quarry!
  19. Yeah i have noticed that with my old boy!! he seem much more mellow with the grandkids lol I've heard that loads of times, proper strict parents turning into grandparents that are wrapped round their grandkids little fingers....it's a ploy I reckon, so that later on in life when you're telling your kids how hard you had it they won't believe you!
