If you don't need it to go off road get a French diesel car, depreciation means you can get them dirt cheap and they're reliable enough, I've done 25k in the last 12 months and it's cost nowt in repairs, and I get 50mpg + out of my Megane regardless of how I drive it. Tax is just over 100 quid a year and insurance is group 5 I think.

Oh yeah i understand exactly why, it's a lovely little earner! I just like to annoy the shit out of them with silly questions i already know the answer to. FFS you could get a decent cocker pup from proven working stock for less than that! too energetic though pal, imagine trying to put rollers or use curling tongues in a working cocker!

Well think about it like this, the likes of us would buy a lurcher for £150, work them for a few seasons and if they're up to scratch possibly breed them, give some to mates and sell the rest for little or no profit. The likes of him but a wanker of a dog for 500 quid, pay a ton to breed it with another wanker of a dog, make up a silly name for them and sell them to a load of pillocks making £4k profit. Do that every year and you have a nice little tax free bonus. Does that answer your question? And the bad thing is there are people not dissimilar to him in the working dog world

Really awful news pal, so sorry for you and his family. I know it's difficult to get any positives out of things like this, but there's every chance that nail or whatever punctured his tyre could have saved the lives of his wife and kids! If he'd have collapsed at the wheel who know what would have happened!

The sad thing is there's probably hundreds that have died in cars this last couple of weeks that have never been reported. What a horrendous death it would be!

Some people talk as if tripe hasn't got any nutrients in it, I find that bizarre! It's very good for your dog, keep it frozen and feed it to them as soon as it defrosts and the smell isn't that bad. As for how much to feed a pup, pups are supposed to be a bit on the chubby side compared to adult dogs. From what I've seen, pups don't usually over eat anyway, they only have little stomachs so there's only so much they can fit in. Feed a decent quality balanced diet and let the dog eat its fill 3 times a day and you wouldn't go far wrong.

I used to work offshore in the North Sea. I kid you not they banned knifes on the rig, the HSE guy came round to each department and tool away all knifes and sharp pointy things. If you needed a knife you would have to go to the radio room and sign out a cutting tool. Anotehr occasion a guy was spotted cutting a bread bun with a bread knife and as you do he was cutting towards himself (its just a bread knife!) unfortunately he was spotted by the rig supervisor who went ballistic, next thing we heard was a tannoy saying that if this ever happened again he would confiscate all the knives -
mealtimes must be a bloody affair in the baw household!

yeh make sure they enjoy it ,because if ihad done it me , he would have prob have to learn to walk again, thats if he could ,evera gain wonderful things a 686 12g is ........A fights a fight but purposely maiming someone for the hell off it is out of order. Dont think i could look in the mirror everyday with a piece of my face missing without wanting to sort the twat properly.It knocked the fella all to fukc ... He didn't go out for about a year and is still a nervous wreck to this day ... He was a right jack the lad before the incident ........ Wow... Thats a whole new level of sick

the very people who's signed this petition highlight the problem for me, none of them are active animal rights activists and none of them know anything about the countryside....we're up against animal rights activists AND the people who know nothing about the subject. Asked about something like this, the neutral will always say protect the fluffy animal.

Is there a working dog breed that didnt ?......Doesnt mean all working dogs are mongrels though does it............. I believe certain families within the American Pit Bull Terrier breed in todays times are some of the genetically purest dogs alive in the world today.....that will still never change the fact they came from a cross though. No! and that's exactly what I said in my first post.....that if everyone thought like you none of these breeds would exist. -

Its called evolution.......what starts off as a good idea is often replaced with a better one. I think the lurcher is a cracking BREED..................or do you not class the Lurcher as a breed ?......Its either a breed or its a mongrel you cant have it both ways ? evolution yes, brought about by cross breeding....is it not? the lurcher is in no way, shape or form a breed, how on earth can it be when it could be a mix of a dozen or more different dogs?? a lurcher is a crossbreed/mongrel that has sighthound and sheepdog or terrier in it. If a dog trainer could train out dog aggression in a fighting dog that would tell me nothing about the dog trainer but everything about the dog.......what it would tell me is that its a poor representative of its breed and in an ideal world would be culled !....................I could say i could take a champion winning greyhound and teach it to run slowly....does that make me a good dog trainer or the dog a poor greyhound ?
