British Recoiling Championships 24Th March, 2013
gurtwurz replied to davyt63's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I'm in the same boat as davy,i dunno which ones I'm gonna be able to do yet due to other commitments (my fekkin diary is already full to bloody june lol). Also, I'm joining mile oak hft club so I can hopefully car share cos doing the southern hunters on my own has cost me a bloody fortune in petrol-getting to shepreth cost me 70 notes alone, and I simply can't afford to continue like this, unfortunately. Should defo be able to do a couple though? -
The tuned version's a different animal altogether lewis mate, much smoother, less recoil and a bit quieter (although mine is unsilenced cos it s one of the old long ones and I find its much better balanced without a mod). BUT-tuning's not something that you need to rush out and do immediately, theyre a great gun to start with so you should find it groups well as is mate. But definitely worth considering when you find that youre shooting to the full potential of the untuned rifle. And yep, I'm very well thanks mate :-)

Damn phone! Dropped a 40yd rabbit with a sweet headshot tonight, then spent a pleasant half hour shooting with my daughter. From the simplest and most fun airgunning to serious hunting and long distance target shooting, the just laps it all up,i love shooting mine, whatever kinda shooting I'm doing. Hope you have as much fun with yours mate.

And he was right to use one and all, my favourite pick up and go rifle of all time. Good choice lewis, and mate, get it tuned, you won't regret that at all mate. Makes a great airgun an awesome airgun. Dried a

British Recoiling Championships 24Th March, 2013
gurtwurz replied to davyt63's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Yeah, it was bloody good fun, but there'll be loads of others this year mate. At least you'll be able to concentrate properly this time round without all the usual tomfoolery, could mean first place for you! Cheers, wurz -
Bugger using the net lol My local gun shop always do me a deal, and I can escape there for a cuppa if the mrs has dragged me out shopping. The internets killing old school shops like these, run by gents that know their stuff and remember what real customer service is about and I think it'll be a terrible loss when they go.

Can't do it, thats the last southern hunters como at west london rangers. Gutted, but there you go.. Cheers, wurz -
Now now... As to which is best, I know my .22 pro sport does as well as a certain .177 tx in the southern hunters series, but with more style cos its much better looking. Like its owner...

Great minds think alike lol My step daughter has got into shooting recently and my rfd mate is giving one of these a bit of a polish internally ready for her 21st in a couple of weeks. I'll bung a photo on FB later, cos I can't upload them on here with my current phone. Shoots lovely though, seems nice and accurate at close to medium range so she'll be well sorted till she grows out of it (then its mine!) Nice choice LJ!

Legal Age To Carry A Air Gun In Public ?
gurtwurz replied to jandcguns's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I was wondering about that myself,i thought the police were the generally accepted body for law enforcement?! I reckon these wardens are the rural equivalent of the private security bods seen around town centres, but I've no idea who's paying them.. -

gurtwurz replied to jandcguns's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Don't... I've had a run in with a fella who's supposed to be the 'area warden' and is basically dressed like a shop security guard with a shit load of boy scout badges. As I was chatting with the owner of death valley recently this twat leapt out of his badged ford fiesta (i kid you not) and gave me the full twenty questions before telling me he'd be informing the land owner that I'd been on his land. To which frank, the farmer and owner that I'd been chatting to, to his eternal credit said ' But I already know he's here, so best you fekk off' Made my day... -
Youre right about squirrels being a pain to skin when theyre cold craig, but personally I think theyre worth the effort,i think theyre much tastier than rabbits. Best slow cooked cos the meat can be tough, although after an hours cooking I dry them on kitchen roll then deep fry th em in peri peri based breadcrumbs for a KFC style treat. Or any chinese duck recipe is fantastic

Omg Not Another Baby 3 Babys In Two Weeks
gurtwurz replied to porkybella's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Congratulations mate -
I've been lent a walther to have a go on, and spent yesterday comparing it to my mates 177 pro sport and my tuned . It's not as good as either, neither as accurate or as nice to shoot. Bloody shame, cos I really wanted to like it but it's a disappointment. The competition version is butt ugly to boot.. Cheers, wurz

The only ringing that old codjer could hear was his tetanus!!!!!!! I was stood next to you and I could see and hear you hit the plate every time! (you were lucky to do that) Fair play you did it with that old bsa thing, but till the day I die ill protest that old mans words!!!! I also like how its gone from once with the BSA (the truth) to once with the BSA and twice with the jeffries (utter dribble from the old man) and now to your version of twice with both!!!! (away with the fairys!) But hey we both did better than the springer shooter eh! ATB Adam Whilst I grac

Rabbit hunting experience needed near Southampton

Assuming fate doesn't deal you yet another low blow ian, youre stil welcome over here ian mate, just give us a bell when youre free. -
Well I didn't think it was too bad, it was grand to catch up with all who were there, davy and chas were on fine form on the journey there and back, thoroughly enjoyed the bell ringing (or not, in my case lol), although not with the second lincoln I had a go on cos it was rubbish.. Didn't buy a walther, but spent a bloody fortune in the last hour-at least I'll have dry feet from here on in though... 8 hrs of driving but I thought it was worth it in the end, but I am easily pleased... Cheers, wurz

Looks like I've got away with an advance lie lol She's done me scallops and bacon for tea so I may be forgiven... Anybody know if arsenic is fatal?
-
I like your thinking there si! Be prepared to back me up mate lol
-
Best to keep these financial things to yourself for the sake of a healthy relationship! I mean, I may have scraped enough together to fund one of the new walthers, but I shall have to make up a story involving a long lost relative,a bank job or a prize fight in order to get away with actually getting one (supposed to be saving for the wedding-doh!)
