  1. I've only ever seen gudgeon in rivers...i didn't know they lived ok in ponds...probably as i have never caught any or fished for them in ponds....i use to make my own tanks years ago that i put fresh water fish in...it was good at first, but after a while the novelty wore off a bit....cleaning/treating/changing/amongst other things.....i think thats why they are expensive to set up but not a lot of value second hand....
  2. sounds like you have some nice older gear there bud....i come across a store that sold anything and everything second hand whilst on vancouver island....my kind of store i had to take a look, older rods but not my kind but i did spot an old garcia/mitchell 330 (the one with the flick up bail arm) on the shelf....he wanted $40 bucks for it, being english i knocked him down to $25...lol i stripped it down when i got back...new grease/oil and worked a treat...not quite as smooth as a new reel but a firm smooth but in your hand it felt better quality than a new one...i also picked up an old
  3. hi Mack, i do allsorts of fishing as it comes really....when in bc i had some nice steelheads/rainbows....on the pike at great slave lake in Yellowknife...here i catch the brook trout, flounder (dabs to you and me)....and august time we go for the stripped bass...we had some decent ones last year.....i found a good spot on the beach for them, no one goes there which suits me.... what about yourself...i expect when the salmon run your on them....
  4. i havent seen a gudgeon for years mate....thanks for that...do you have a freshwater fish tank....
  5. yes, im not a fan of crowded fishing...we use to find the quite out the way spot were no one had been...knocking down long grass and growth.....would have probably benefitted us using groundbait all them years ago but being younger we just grabbed our rod/bag and a tub of maggots and off we went.....its funny really...this dace/gudgeon topic came around after i was going through my fishing rods a while back and come across my old rod that i use to catch the dace/gudgeon on....that bought back some good memories....its a 10ft diawa float/ledger rod were you screwed in the swinging tip or a quiv
  6. sorry to hear that bud....
  7. nice write up bud, we use to catch quite a few dace years ago some were a decent size but never really big ones, i never knew they went up to a lb....we use to fish the river stour for dace/gudgeon either on the float or a maggot with a small split shot and let it drift down current....its good to hear your fishing for them these days.....
  8. years ago we use to catch dace and gudgeon from the river, do people see any these days or even fish for them?.....
  9. looks like you and the lads had a brilliant day out bud.....you cant beat fresh mackerel and bass like that....nice to see someone looking after there work force....good on ya bud.....
  10. same here bud.....
  11. I've got a few mates that have been married for a good number of years but have separate bank accounts.....his and her money from day one to the present day....it obviously works for them but i find it odd.....we've always had a joint account....i know that at the end of the day the bills/mortgage are paid the same from a joint/separate so it shouldn't really make any difference...but does it, separate or joint?
  12. sorry to hear that bud, its never easy when the time comes....just remember the 15 1/2 years of good times you had......

  15. history in sports was made 2 days ago in the NHL....Alex Ovechkin broke the 31 year old record for the most goals scored with 895 goals....the record was 894 from Wayne Gretzky.....what an achievement this is....
  16. a doctor on tv today was saying that marijuana users are 6 times more likely to get cardio vascular disease than tobacco.....and 4 (i think) times more chance of having a stroke dew to a chemical it produces which is causing blood clots.....it was smoking it/edibles or any other way....ive never heard off this before.....

    Benefits

i haven't had/nor paid for water in years, we have our own drilled well, the water is crystal clear and tastes way better than supplied water plus you don't get that horrible shot of chlorine when the pipes are cleaned.....if your live out in the country here you get a well....
  18. I've just looked over here for your bike, there are a lot of chain and sprocket sets for a 1976 kh100.....there isn't a listing for a 1975 kh100.....only 76 and on-.....maybe a 76 might fit?
  19. what is ad blue, and what is its proper use....
  20. you have got some nice bikes there mate....more my cup of tea.... there are quite a few of the z900 z1000 and z750's here along with cb750's and kH/gt's triples....I've only got a few bikes that i picked up were i was working a 74 dt 100, 75 cl100 scrambler and a cruiser i bought for a $1......although i got the cruiser its not my thing but for a $1 why not....I've mended it and cleaned it up now it looks pretty good.....but the other 2 need Reno's
  21. I've never really understood why those scooters have such a big following...there pretty ugly to look at and scooters are horrible to ride....the seating position is so unnatural for a bike...I like the old British/jap bikes and also modern bikes but never a scooter.....when people do a custom job on them its like putting lip stick on a pig to me.....i mean, each to there own if that floats your boat, and all that.....
  22. congratulations bud....that is good news....
  23. ouch!....the look of that seat...lol i would like a bit more padding...lol the bike looks smart though.....
  24. brilliant game, and even a better ending Canada beating America....I couldn't be more happier, it made my wife and I's night....what with the tension between the two countries at the moment, Canada winning that game last night has done the Canadians a power of good with the victory......
