@NEWKID Here’s one for you mate, you can tell how the games changed by the shin pads you can buy now.....they are all total shite compared to what you used to get hold of. It’s a real struggle to get decent ones now, was shopping for my boy the other day and it drove me nuts !

To be fair, it was a pen but it was just I tricked him into giving it away. Like you, it was something I never went in for, didn’t really need to if I’m honest. Like all players of our era I suspect you was like me mate, if you went down hurt then people knew you REALLY were hurt.

I did it in an Essex Junior Cup semi final at Witham Town years ago mate, a young centre back trying to hustle and bustle me the whole game and I thought “lovely”......got a ball played into feet in the box and there he was all up my back and I simply turned into him and went over!......he learned a good lesson there that day. Lol I didn’t think of it as cheating, it was just experience.....I knew he was going to gift me a penalty from the moment we kicked off.

I slipped the dog on two of them a few years back, I’d just caught sight of something laying down in a rut in some heavy plough as I swung the lamp round. The dog spotted it too so I let him go on an off chance and as the dog got to them they stood up absolutely shitting it saying “woah woah” lol ? I just said sorry lads, and we had a bit of a chuckle.

The only thing worth remembering is that watching football on the telly is like watching formula 1 on the telly......it’s all so much slower, in fact those tackles are at 90mph Lads are still taking hits, it’s just so many are complete fannies about it

It’s f**k all new anyway, remember Rivaldo at the World Cup ? Lol ? ? I actually find the over amplified screams they all give out any time they brushed with a tackle the most cringe worthy. Henderson did it against Flamengo the other night and it was shite to hear an English player do that. What the f**k is all that about? I actually played a game 2 years ago and a lad suffered an horrific leg break, I looked after him until the ambulance arrived and even he didn’t scream like that and his lower leg above the ankle was folded in half !

It’s a case of check and double check, yes there is lots of bollocks on the net but there is also enough information to make informed choices or at least to make you ask questions. There is a rush to always medicate everyone, hence why the UK is having to run adverts telling people NOT to take anti biotics unless they really need them because they are becoming ineffective. Also kids, kids have never been so medicated......it’s f***ing terrible really. Kids with autistic spectrum disorder are being pumped full of what is basically speed !! It’s exactly the same as amphetimen !

Not vaccinating you’re kids is plain f***ing dereliction of duty......however there is a caveat, never ever take the governments or medical people’s word for things either. With any type of drug, do your research and do it well.

I have never bought into all this “players shouldn’t talk to the ref, just leave him to get on with it” stuff......I think it’s so, so important to let a ref know that you are paying as much attention to him as he is to you. And yes, try and gain an edge with the ref over the other team.....all part and parcel like win the first header, hit them hard and win the first tackle, stick one on their mid field or defensive enforcer. Sport is always about the mind as well as the body

I think it says less about Boris and Donald and more about the class of politicians we have endured the last 20 years.......I don’t think it’s a question of them being brilliant, it’s just to the ordinary man in the street all the others are complete mental cases. I think it was a culmination. Chris, you know yourself that there are these massive “super schools” in Burnley and areas like that where it’s almost all pakis. You have also witnessed from afar how ludicrous the Brexit process had become, it’s crippled things over there and it was also blatantly obvious that the “student union” set in parliament thought everyone was f***ing idiots and treated them that way.
