Well, I’d like to see Idris Elba play Adolf Hitler in a remake of Downfall and for there to be a scene where he explained to Herman Goring that he must not make as many flights because of global warming. There would also feature a scene of Himler holding a diversity meeting in order to help staff understand Goebbles disability issues to facilitate better access around the Riechstag ! Yeah, that would all fit in hardly noticed and I think it would send a positive message to the viewer !

The meaningless word has nothing to do with it. They spend fortunes on TV productions to make sure every bit of scenery is period correct because it’s important to the story.......it’s like making The Dam Busters and dropping in an odd F14 just to be current !

I think you deliberately misunderstand. Its a fair call in a story line set in 15th, 16th or 18th century England to say that the lord chancellor probably isn’t going to look like Lenny Henry I’m a ruff isn’t it......you know, some brother out the hood isn’t going to be having port in London gentleman’s club in 1758 or telling Queen Victoria what’s what about world events. I dont have a problem with characters cast properly, you know if a black actor is cast as Othello or Matin Luther King or Shaft or a Zulu or A street vendor in Tim Buk Tu then yep......it makes sense ! If he is playing the poor downtrodden second class citizen in a period drama, again yep, I could see how that works ! But for f**k sake, as an 18th century lawyer or a 16th century minister to the courts of the king of England !!?.....f**k off. I have to say, this attempt to ram normalisation down my throat every time I switch on the telly boils my piss. Every f***ing programme has some darkie cast in a role they have no business being in!........they have totally given up trying to be subtle about it or even worrying about context.....they just ran it in there ! Funny the difference in things now days, my father in law was in the navy and spent a lot of time in Hong Kong. He said that when the chinkys used to try and get to Hong Kong they would help them and fire on the Chinese navy boats chasing them.

I don’t know about anyone else but my little group of pals went through a phase of seeing what was the most howling thing we could do to each other when one of us was totally out of it. Having a slash all over the poor c**t who was unconscious was a regular one. I had a bottle of domestos poured over my head in an attempt to bleach my hair and a swastika burned into my cheek with a bit of metal. f***ing each other’s birds was considered the height of hilarity and we once stuck a Benson & hedges up my pals japs eye when he was laying unconscious in the public bar of the booze

When we was young men my pal used to go home every Saturday night absolutely hammered, and without fail wack on The Dead Kennedy’s at full blast and have a piss in the end of his mum and dads bed ! It was like a f***ing ritual ! .......they got a lock for the bedroom door in the end ! Lol
