A sponsor may cover the cost of a kit mate at local kids and adults level but that’s about it. Everything else requires support, lots of support. It probably cost me £500 a year to coach my youngsters teams, I buy all my own equipment, medals, trophies etc etc ......it’s a pain in the arse waiting for the club or committee to do anything so I just do it myself and f**k em. Badges in England are an investment because you can see money going back into the game with facilities etc In Ireland I refuse to pay and do them because absolutely f**k all gets put into the game here.

At a guess I’d say it’s going to be some right on, warped prick who thinks a duck should be able to identify as a tree and that saying “I don’t like winter” is a hate crime.

Most clubs, especially grass roots clubs, walk a fine line I reckon mate

I have just read Trumps letter to Pelosi, it’s a belter. !
-
That sounds decent that mate. I don’t know if clubs are giving grants but one thing I know 100% is that all clubs rely on support in the community and it sounds like them boys have the right idea. Theres a simple truth in football and that is, built something good and people will come but you have to be very, very pro active. If you build a good thing you will get: Players wanting to play for you People wanting to send their kids to your youth teams People wanting to watch you Business and sponsors wanting to be associated with you But it means a hell of

Same for every European club mate I’m afraid (obviously in jock land it will be different ! Lol ) The gate pays for f**k all, it’s the merchandise and sponsors that pay the bills. I was in the PSG shop on the Champs Elysee 5 years back and they couldn’t stack Ibrahimovic shirts on the selves fast enough, as they put a pile on they were gone at €90 a pop ! They must have sold thousands that day and that shop was rammed the day I was in there and the others days I walked past as well.

Ohh, is that the club you have a little interest in.....just dawned on me. I like that little ground, I’ll buy you a cup of tea when I’m over there next.....that’s if the hoi palloy have tea with the oiks? Lol ?
-
Or Marco Boogers, Collins, Reid, Lomas, Bishop etc Good job we had them in the tool box and could afford to f**k off Ferdinand, Lampard, Cole, Carrick etc etc lol ?
-
Point is, even AC Milan are saying that if they don’t do something modern then they will diminish !.......this is AC Milan we are talking about.......can you ever imagine uttering the words “Remember AC Milan?.....yeah, they play in division 3 in Italy but years ago they were one of the best ever” I can’t.......
-
Watch that AC Milan video mate, tell me, do you think they should keep the SAN Siro or build a new gaff ?
-
That’s true about non league, Paul Konchesky has a few games down our little local club last season. Its also a decent place to watch up and coming youngsters out on loan and cutting their teeth.

This is the honest answer mate: The football fan in me would have happily stayed at Upton Park forever.....that is absolutely what my football “fan” nature is all about. The player and student of coaching in me would move because you have to.

You mean a turban surely ?

Haha, no mate, both my brothers had pubs and they definitely didn’t have to pay that. Lol ?
-
Depends what you mean by busy really mate and I know that’s a hard one to judge, I’d think if you ain’t taking 10 grand a week then you ain’t that busy.
-
There’s no doubt the British pub has declined massively, I think the reasons are many and varied. Back in the early 80s my brothers boozer would take 10 grand across the bar Friday and Saturday night no problem at all, then he’d have the masons and all that old bollocks in the function rooms. It was a lovely earner, now days I’d say if you don’t have a decent menu for grub you won’t survive.....grubs where the money is now, there’s f**k all in the booze. Spent my whole childhood round old traditional London boozers and the characters that frequented them but that jobs f****d no

I think you lads need to read Jukels post again ! Lol ? Your talking about your arseholes and he is talking about something completely different ! ?
-
? ? You can f**k right off you wind up merchant ? Anyway, must dash.....I’m off to buy a city and a Liverpool shirt....just in case you understand ! Lol ?

Here’s one for the football lads on here, see if you agree. I think for a long time we went through the “just stay alive” mentality in the premier league. I don’t think that’s the case anymore. I think that shit died with Ranieris Leicester team and Guardiolas and Klopps attitude of wanting to win absolutely everything, never taking their foot off the pedal. I think Rodgers has captured it too as could be plainly seen in the 8-0 or whatever it was demolition of Southampton (I think it was Southampton)...they wanted more, they wanted to destroy their opponents which is exact

Here’s a genuine questions mate, if in some reality the owners said we are going to buy a little old ground somewhere and drop down to 2nd or 3rd tier football do you think that would sit better with some fans? I know personally it wouldn’t bother me at all. Because (and here’s my point really) if you ain’t trying to reach the pinnicle and all that’s go’s with it in the top division of the top league then you may as well be the other bloke and not bother. Less exes, happier fans, none of the jewellery that go’s with being a premier league club. Just a few thousand lads turn

The romantic in me hopes Furguson has the tools in his coaching box to match his passion......that’s a bit of me that is, I love all that shit. And maybe for teams like mine and the Everton’s of this world thats enough. Paulo has the same but it didn’t translate well into management with players who regarded themselves as in the upper echelons on the game. With young players in the modern game, I’d say it’s almost impossible to be the same kind of coach as you were a player if you were that demanding warrior type. You have to be so much more thoughtful about everything.

Well, I’m the worlds worst c**t about almost everything, but I really have found Stoneys post interesting and sincere. It seems like the words of a bloke who has been through the mill and drink was a massive contributing factor......now he is clean of it and proud and rightfully so. He is also reflective and honest and that takes a bit of bollocks in my book so good on you son......keep moving in a forward direction

As I have said before, I used to follow the boxing almost religiously when I was a kid and young man. Now days I haven’t watched a fight in years so it’s interesting to read blokes, especially blokes who know the game as more than just a spectator, talk about it now. So, just an observation from afar really but I reckon the likes of Fury and that turn out with McGregor and those couple of prats off YouTube has dragged boxing into the mud.......it’s seems a shadow of its former self or is it just that I haven’t been paying attention ?
