I found the float fishing for other species to be excellent on mainly carp waters, I used to have some fantastic Rudd, Roach, Crucians and Tench because they just were not fished for but getting fed plenty every week. My personal hatred is these built for purpose “carp match” lakes, what a f***ing perversion of a principal !

Been thinking about doing some of that. My biggest bream was 12lb when I was still in the uk but I have not fished much since being here, the odd river session and that’s all. I sort of lost my enthusiasm as they don’t have carp here, however they do have the lakes…..one near me is 36,000 acres !!……..that’s a bit of me and I have been toying with the idea of trying for some bigger bream and Tench. All jokes aside mate, it’s easy to puff your chest out and say “f**k em” but I’m guessing most lads are late 30s to early 50s…..wives, family’s, mortgages……I just think realistically most lads like that just won’t want the f***ing aggro. Just my own and very limited experience mate but like most cities it’s a mixture, it feels more European than any City in the Uk whereas you’d expect it to be more British city feeling because of the history and proximity…..that’s up towards the 3 arena end, on the river front and just behind. Its nice round there. However, by and large it’s a piss hole, like London really but without as much good stuff. Like most of these things it will probably mean whatever they want it to mean on the day and that’s the real killer…….of course anyone can tough it out and fight it all through The court system but ultimately who wants all that f***ing aggro ? The NHS has some excellent staff but the culture frowns on them being as good as they can and want to be imho Dont get me wrong, some are outright shit but that’s not true for all. Mate, let me tell you the sad truth…..nobody cares or can’t be bothered to care, either way, same thing ! I won’t bore the arse off you with how I know this from years of personal experience but it’s true. What is happening in the U.K. at the moment is totally f***ing brilliant (aside from the fact there are going to be massive and terrible casualties amongst hard working blokes just like you and me). It needs to get terrible, more terrible than it’s ever been, it needs to be absolute carnage….it needs people poor and starving and homeless and bankrupt in their millions…….

They have been getting a lot of flash flooding in my old area and the local councillors are all scratching their heads and coming up with lame excuses as to why…….not one of them has mentioned that building tens or thousands of houses over the last 10 years which obviously means tarmacing and concreting over thousands of acres of land that previously would have been soaking up ground water may have something to do with it ! Ultimately these people are not harming anyone except themselves and that’s always the shame of mental illness. There not much anyone can do except on the ground when confronted with this stuff, just do not endorse the delusion if asked too. Do as you are doing, turn off, turn over, avoid and tell the truth if asked.
