Same here mate, have freezers full of rabbits still going to farms once a week shooting 10 20 in a hour or two,Keeps the permission. As for seasons well they have changed from the old days ,You wouldnt be out ferreting till november and be finished by febuary if you "listened to the seasons". I asked a farmer if he wanted hes rabbits controling over xmas ,no theres not many around,Iknew there was but couldnt tell him i knew there was,He rang me easter weekend.

When it comes to rabbits though it doesn't work like that,Farmers corn coming up,The rabbits that are now breeding like rabbits,That have been invisible to the farmer all winter suddenly hoping around everywhere. In fact if you want to get more permission now is the time to start looking,10 rabbits suddenly looks like a 100.

Baw, one of your best posts for a bit... The amount of 'not quite made the grade' pups must be staggering, I could save myself a whole lot of early bother an 'goal hang' for my next charge, or maybe bother an bully folks into dropping sommat that takes my eye, now that wouldn't be hard i'd bet... I tried that recently with a lad on here he hasnt come back to me yet though, must be still thinking about it If i knew some one like skycat describes i would defiantly give there cast of a chance.

No matter how long youve been into the dogs,Having a pup on always gets you a bit excited hoping this is the "dog of a lifetime". Watching it grow getting the bond, training, putting up with the chewing whining pissing. All the time looking forward to the windy night when you first take it out, feeling the pups heart beat through the string as you walk it to its first rabbit. Ican see why lads want to put up a pic of there pup,Gets a bit tedious when a lad cannot even take hes pup a walk without putting up 20 photos though.

Seen one the other day,Caught a octopus, put it in a tank with a crab in a see through box,With 3 different ways of openings. The wild one hadn't a clue,So they put the same box in with a octopus in the tank next door that knew how to open it,The wild one went straight over watched how,After that it ,would open the box always using the same opening.Clever things.

dont know how true it is, they reckon few great whites have been in these waters Make's perfect sense to me, they like cold water and eating seals. I'd imagine some would be living off the coast of Cornwall. My mum caught a blue shark on her honeymoon in southern england, a good size too. We also get Mako and Porbeagle amongst others. dont know how true it is, they reckon few great whites have been in these waters Make's perfect sense to me, they like cold water and eating seals. They might not be the fastest mammal around but by feck they can turn and if a dog can't turn it ain't catching many foxes pre-ban or next week. Blackgreyhound - tell you what Johnny's bang on old charlie boy might not be as quick as a hare but by f**k he can turn - stop dead and turn on his own shadow in the blink of an eye, again and again and again, jink and jive and jook all over the bit...seen some pretty decent dogs being made mugs of by foxes... Seen a few that "couldnt get away" Seen one or 2 drop down like a sheep dog let the dog go right over the top of em,a couple of quick tur

Why Gsdxg Malxg Will Be Faster Than Saluki X
weasle replied to blackgreyhound's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
That's a good point fat lad,,, and something that should have been mentioned on the gsd thread,,, finding a good Shepard dog is a tuff call I think,,, the fecking rechid specamins that hide under those thik coats are plenty,,, although crossing them may well cancel out the bad points,,, I still think there's better options out there,,, possibly like you say with the mal (Dutch Shepard). I rember about 4-5 years ago having this discussion on moochers,,, a pic was put up of a class winner at cruffts,,, A fecking abomination that should have been shot,, and yet a few moochers members thought -
Great whites have been seen on our coasts.Had the pleasure of going in a cage with them,The water was very murkey by the time you saw them they where swimming right next to the cage,Was like a bus going past all you could see was shark.Wouldnt want to meet one without the cage.

Gee these threads become hard work no wonder lads dont bother posting any more. Bunnys your right about show dogs thats why you look for dogs that are bred and do a job,Farm collie, gsd that did man work police work even obedience would be better than a pet or a dog tied to a chain looking hard in a scrap yard.Maybe thats why trying to find decent lurcher ain't so easy. So if you had a gsdxgrey and put it to a coursing dog if you want wind it wouldn't have wind because theres not enough gsd in it. As for the rest they hunt hares for miles. They pull up after a turn. They run 100 rabbits catch3

Yes 23" is a size i like, never wanted or needed anything over 24 tbh.Not only perfect for the bunnies well able for what ever eles jumped when it was allowed.Without the land owners becoming worried for there bullocks. I wouldnt want to end up with a 19" dog with the bone of a dh though Some might like the stats 'heres my dog 19"47lb"
-
Just to clarify i would say a good racy type maybe a 1/4 cross could be a handy dog.BUT throwing any old gsd over a running dog is going to produce what you would expect. You could cross a pappion with a greyhound, and they would work,But your trying to improve the grey, not let the grey cover the fact that the other half of the cross is a duffer?
-
Would you not be better say using a whipxgrey 23-24" and bring the size down gently and getting a even litter. Seems to me whippxdh is just trying to do it all in one go, and hoping for the best?
-
I smell bull shiters from a mile,I aint going to pretend otherwise.... Good or bad i say it and normally without being rude.Dont let it ruin your day
-
That ain't the shepherd coming out....every working shepherd iv owned or trained and thats a lot has been bidable a will give it 100% when asked.....the only other option is that you've used pet/show gsd blood and its just shite anyway..... No wonder he left a dog with keepers rather than give them a hare
