Desperate situations call for desperate actions. Respect for all those heroes who played their part in giving us the freedom we have today. Also to all the people who worked round the clock in factories to make them. I visited the RAF Museum recently during the Battle of Britain commemorations and saw those planes they flew in......they looked like basic big tin boxes compared to the computerised war planes of today.

Anyways, I have three dogs, when she was a wee pup she used to follow the others about enthusiastically, waiting for them to squat. She never grew out of it. She has to be let out for a separate toilet break from the others. really i do imagine your yard is clean why wouldnt it be with your dog eating all the shite .. carry on;;; Yes my yard is very clean, that'

My bitch just loves eating turds, her own and the other dogs. I tried all the pineapple advice etc - it didn't work. My dogs are regularly wormed and fed on raw and at one time good quality dry stuff - it made no difference. She just loves eating turds.

How would you feel about your liver going to an acloholic or lungs to someone wo wrecked their own by smoking.............and are likely to do it again with donated organs........?

Fed and exercised properly a spayed bitch, just like any other canine, will not get fat. Each one is an individual and have its condition monitored on a day to day basis and adjusted accordingly.

I found the lamb and rice wheat free variety handy for a dog with a sensitive gut. Reasonably priced too.

The DDA states that the dogs should be muzzled, kept on leads and STERILISED. Having watched that programmed last night, I think those rules should also be applied to the owners of the dogs...........there was, without doubt some specimens there that should be banned from reproducing. I found it sad about the dogs but was more shocked that people choose to live/behave like that. Was it all in Brimingham?

Good useful post to highlight the danger of sticks. Best not to encourage dogs to play fetch etc with sticks. Use a proper safe toy with no sharp edges. Saw a springer one time who had been horiffically injured in the mouth playing fetch with a stick. It was so bad and left such a memory that to this day, if I see folks throwing sticks for thier dogs I try to warn them.............some people, of course, don't want to know....but hey, you can only try. Hope your dog is ok.

I get what Bird is saying and part of me agrees.....its a bit off the subject of the topic ( the girl ) but as regards a weak minded dog i think he is right......its completely bonkers to think every single dog born is trainable and will make a good dog in the right hands, thats one of those romantic things professional dog trainers like to say that is so unrealistic its almost absurd !....Anything born of nature has the ability to be good or bad its up to us as breeders or trainers to stack the odds in favour of being good thats all....but it wont always work......ive given up on dogs before s -
It could be a cyst or something more sinister. You won't know until you have it biopsied/removed.

She needs a good talking to............with a bamboo cane until it splinters into matchsticks...........oh, maybe that makes ME sound cruel....? -
Well done. What way are your dogs bred?

Iv'e heard grapes are toxic to dogs, as well as a lot of other common foods. I have a 13 year old walking miracle who has ate some amount of junk over the years including a full box of Milk Tray in one go, two loaves of egg and onion sandwiches, raw potatoes, apples etc theived from the veg rack and stripped the tomatoes off plants on the greenhouse when the door was left open and full cakes, greaseproof paper and all......and no sign of gut ache ever. I guess some individual dogs must be more susceptible than others.

Yes, unfortunately dogs in today's society are seen as disposable. Sad really. I hope people take better care of their kids than they do their poor dogs.

This view sort of makes sense to me. I never could believe the rumours of wearing copper bracelets to help arthritis etc. I like to see clear scientific proof. But having said that, reagrding your 'cure' for the common cold, as well as wearing your special hat, could I suggest you back up your thearpy with a large glass of red wine, or indeed a hot whisky, at the same time to speed up your feeling of general wellbeing . -
Google British Koi Keepers Society (BKKS). There will be a section local to you - ask their advice, most are hobbists and would be glad to help and advise you on your options and what is best for the fish. Ask if they would come and assess the situation. Winter/Spring can be a tricky time for the fish.

So did you leave your hob with him or take it back home?
-
I bet that made it feel worthwhile what you did out of kindness and decency. It was a family pet. Well done.

Maybe because they are, as you say, diverse, a 'type' rather than a breed........not like the 'Parson Russell Terrier' with a breed standard dictated by the Kennel Club? Most of the ones I have come across seem to be healthy, hardy and long lived.

Learn a trade while you have a chance...........you can always enjoy your fieldsports as a hobby/sideline. When the trades pick up again you would then be in a stronger position to earn a decent living. Good luck.

always thought it would be good to have different reps in different areas to represent THL at the game fairs. the forums a big place now with alot of members which would generate alot of interest if a pitch was made up... also would be a good excuse to a P*** up for us all and a good crack . Does that bit mean 'piss up' or 'punch up'?

Even though your mate was likely liable for any damage caused etc?
