I always found it really easy to conceal. There is a cheaper version where the arm rest dosnt fold up but I always found the folded black widow fit neatly under my arm.

There are companies that will dig it for free, they keep the soil that comes out, dont know much about it only seen them advertise. Is there no where with a stream running nearby that you could run into it? You will already of thought of that im sure but all our ponds we dig are on the edge of a moor so we can run a stream to em quite easy.

Cheers for that pal. Iv seen your site before via liams. Im mainly interested in the west lancs harrier packs who's countries are quickly disapearing under development but it is an up hill struggle.

Blackwidow all the way.

Yes thats what iv found. But there was alot of mole workings on that 1 farm but not much after the cold weather, maybe the soil is shallow over the millstone grit and they couldnt get down deep enough? interested to know if anyone else have seen it anywhere.

Not sure the pin feathers from the end of the wings where used by artists for fine work Dont know about the pin feathers I dunk the whole bird in the paint tin when painting a wall.... Sorry it made me laugh

Just wondered how many moles people have been finding compared to last year. Now iv had not a bad start to my trapping season, catching average or above average on all my farms. On one farm I had 50 when the average over the last 5 years has been 32 so when that farmer said he had heard that the cold winter had killed alot of moles I laughed and said not that Id seen. But... when visiting a hill farm owned by that same farmer I looked from a distance and thought it was the same sort of numbers as last year but on looking closer I found all the workings to be old and not alot of fresh work. You

Le chamou wellies, [bANNED TEXT] kicking mole hills over in boots they get all clogged up and need cleaning so its wellies for me. I wear blue nitrile gloves, not for scent just to keep my hands clean, I get all cracked skin with soil keep drying out on my hands. Iv worked outside my whole life but only moling makes my hands go like that. But my supply of free nitrile gloves is running out so any ideas for what gloves other people wear would be good.

fookin know it all Alright Mr Knowfuckall calm down..............but i still think i'm right... Was it this.....?or this.. I reckon thats a Spanish Kestral anyway so I reckon the kids better at identifying birds than you cleverdick.

Cheers pal, Not many meets left this season.

I have but I'll maybe need to see a good number of the very earliest at some point, so if anyone has any I would apreciate a look or a photocopy of the relevant pages.

I think the problem is going to be where do you stop as there were so many packs of hounds in the area, iv just found record of another pack called the Kirkham harriers. I already knew about the Rochdale and the Rossendale but as I dont know that area of country I hadnt given them much though, problem is sometimes there histories are all intermixed. The Aspull hunt which is the one that sparked my interest was kept at some point at Crooke hall in Whittle le woods which is now called lisieux hall which is near Buckshaw village for anyone who knows the area. The master there bought a hound i

most of the packs im interested in wer small harrier packs whos country was later included within what is now the holcombe country. Most had disapeared by the early 1900's. I have been and will contact nearby packs but just hoped somebody had at least heard of some of the packs im looking for, any little scraps of info about book referances etc. some old local history books may have an odd photo, things I can piece together, its stuff like that I need as well. Cheers

I stopped at a pub on bodmin moor once, woke bolt upright in the middle of the night, looked at the clock and it was excactly 1am. As I was sat there the television switched on, I reached over got the control and switched it off before putting the remote back on cabinate. I lay back down and the TV switched on again, 3 times it came on and 3 times I switched it off like that before getting up and pulling plug out of wall. As I got back in bed the TV switched on again this time with the sound on full, without being plugged in, it stayed on a few seconds and went off. I put my head under the cov

3 that I know of, thats packs hunting regular. I know of others who keep a few hounds. Do you really know of a lot more that operate as a proper pack?

Another mole catcher! They are multiplying faster than the moles! Im not knocking you for what your trying to do, fair play pal......BUT I just cant understand why people need to ask what to charge. Work out how long it will take you. Work out your expenses, Work out how much you need to earn per day and the answer is staring you in the face. And if you doing it as a side line and not declareing it or having the proper insurance then dont expect priceing tips from someone who does it to pay the morgage. Sorry if that sounds like im trying to be negative and it sounds like your

I am from East Lancashire and only know of one pack which is the Hodder Valley and they are now a gun pack. Is there any round here that run the hounds still? They always were a gun pack. What do you mean 'run the hounds still'? There are 3 registered packs of harriers, 1 of foxhounds and 1 pack of beagles that meet in lancs at times. plus at least 3 other pirate packs.

I was a gamekeeper in holcombe country for a while and Iv met the hunt sec recently. I actually made a wine rack for the masters house, didnt realise thats who it was for till I delivered it and saw the red coat in the tack room! Iv been meaning to start riding to hounds again and was goin to hav a day with holcombe to ease myself back into the saddle, time goes so quick iv not got round to it this season tho. Cheers

Yes still there with the now added festival of hunting
-
Cheers for that. Im after leads of any old books that mention hunting in lancashire especially west lancashire. Im going to look at the site of the aspull hunt kennels soon, now a vicarage I believe.

Hi there, The older packs have inaffect been incorporated into the holcombe. Its the old packs that are fast disapearing into the mists of time that im interested in, those who's meets and kennels are now in the middle of towns. I will speak to the holcombe secretary when I see her tho, I guess that will be a good start for some leads.
