  1. Some times i think it must be nice being perfect like the likes of you silversnake...but then i think f**k it! im happy as iam...sometimes when people are passionate about a subject and believe in their hearts they are right...some of that passion will spill over onto the forum...id rather read a blunt and rude post thats heart felt and honest than some of the wishy washy be my friend crap that gets posted on here...years ago i worked with an old boy who was a pigeon fancier...he used to race them and belonged to a club...it often kicked off at club meetings...and i remember the old boy once c
  2. Gar's owner boasted his dog could stop any Stafford in 20 minutes...a 30lb Staff was brought over from Ireland to meet Gar in his own back yard...Gar came in at 38lb...he couldnt stop the Staff and lost the bet...this was Gars only match...despite being called out many times...in time his owner went with another line of bulldogs...like i said previously...no disrespect to the dogs mentioned...just discussing the names brought into the thread haha, my memory is fantastic aint it!!! i was almost there...just the wrong breed.... Yokel Knew what you ment mate...was just filling in the
  3. .....all breeding has an element of luck but producing a litter of game dogs out of pure family bred curs has far more expectation than producing a litter of game dogs out of scatterbred gr ch deeply game dogs in my opinion. Im no expert on the breeding of Game dogs...but the above opinion shows me neither are you
  4. You are using the term " hybrid " in the truest scientific meaning in the dictionary.....people who have bred performance bulldogs over many years have simply used it in the way of describing totally unrelated blood within the breed......a bit like stating that a dog is dead game when its still alive its just a phrase thats coined.........yes if we want to be completely scientifically punctual your donkey/horse explannation is correct................how can 1 dog that go,s back to Dibo and 1 dog that go,s back to Colby have common ancestry its like saying me and you have common ancestry !

  6. I couldnt disagree more strongly......to say that ace calibre dogs such as gr ch Mayday or infact closer to home an ace calibre dog like gr ch Nikki was produced via " a lucky strike " to me is an insult......yes there will of course be luck involved in any performance breeding but breeding is about stacking the odds in your favour and if you think men who have dedicated years to producing good dogs did so on the toss of a coin......i couldnt agree. Now im not a professor of pedigrees doing a degree on genetics at the university of gamedogology...but even i know a Hybrid is a cross of two
  7. Fairly recent mate last week You sure thats recent??...get the feeling that was shot a while back??...anyone remember the full on medicine ball routines the old trainer George Francis did with Bruno?...he would turn in his grave watching that...looks like induction day at fitness first during cheap offer week

  9. Hybrid vigour is a term used in the dog game when someone strikes it lucky on a cross breed...these pitbull threads always tend to be a bit blind leading the blind
  10. Maybe im wording it wrong.....when i talk about quality of the dogs im not talking about Rover being a better dog than Charlie im talking about the game in general.....before the ban look at some of the silly match reports sent into the journal, look at the quality of some of the shows.........when the owner of the Red Lion could legally own a dog and dip his toes into a world he didnt really understand it was never going to make for top sport.........likewise since ownership has been relaxed again the game in this country is finished. Maybe im wording it wrong.....when i talk about q
  11. Ya sprouncy pair a dildos!...you been at the mushrooms for breakfast Yokel or what?...if you fancy a proper fry up we will be in the K.O diner next saturday morning...i will even sling in a couple of extra slices of the holy ghost...
  12. If it got so many tossers away from the breed...why when i was over Belfast about 10 years back was it every other dog i saw on the street was a Pit Bull?...there was more in the hands of Tossers after the DDA and all the media hysteria than before...the same as it was in England...and thats not to mention the northern Irish dogmen that sold these dogs to just about any tosser with the money to buy em....and that includes asian peddlers that helped flood English cities with dogs that re-ignited a shit-storm that brought heat down on just about everyone...the thing you need to remember it wasnt

  14. They do look dead 'ard though dont they
  15. I think it's sad that our country turned its back on a breed that is the epitome of courage. Instead we look at the British Bulldog has our mascot, I suppose that breed fits perfectly with the way our country is these days.... I just think it's sad that they became popular with the general public full stop! Yep thats people for ya Bosun...they tend to ruin everything
  16. All changed a little bit round there do you remember the Merry Cricketers pub on the one way in Lower Rd opposite the McDonalds its a been a newsagents for the last 10 years or so....proper old ruckers pub just up the road from the Farriers which is still there....there was some cracking boozers along Evelyn St a bit sore but plenty of characters. Im a Manzies man myself i reckon ive tried every pie and mash shop in London over the years and the best ive had is not even in London ! .... Tonys in Waltham Abbey gets my vote. yep, certainly has changed. used to get in the black horse now
  17. No sympathy for him at all...and after living over there for 25yr he's taking the piss playing the British citizen card and demanding help...his son having a whine on the radio...he should of shamed them Saudi's by offering to take the lashes for his 75yr old dad
  18. I certainly do remember Dennis Andries, Gnasher...remember him battering a past his best Tony Sibbson when he went up to light heavy...just before Sibbo called it a day...Andries fought a higher caliber of opponent than Mckenzie...but i can see what your saying in regards to Heart desire and character...i hope Ovill gets a rematch with Ramirez...as i dont remember the matches with Bellew being classic's...and i just cant see the out come being any different than when they met at light Heavy Whats your opinion on the up coming Joshua-v-Whyte fight??...
  19. Now you mention that winston i remember him standing for UKIP ...obviously any promoters going to uses the family name...but totally agree he's fought nowhere near enough to be anywhere in contention for a British title...met Leon a few times at local boxing events he's a nice lad...but having watched a few of his fights (on youtube) i dont see anything too special to be brutally honest...but i wish him all the best...i know a few Norwich lads follow him As much as i'm not a fan of Bellew...i have no doubt a third fight with him and Ovill will yeild the same result as the last two...he turned
  20. I like a good read while i take a dump
  21. Love all that sort a thing too...nothing better this time of year than having a walk on the ridgeway to Waylands smithy...it sits in a grove of beech trees...give it a few weeks and they will all be golden...looks impressive...a lonley spot mid week in autumn...then up to white horse hill and down the vale to the white horse pub in Uffington...have often thought that chalk must be a f****r to dig...a nice slice of England...not that theres anything wrong with Wales of course
  22. Find it hard to get my head around the politic's side of the business...last time i looked the IBF #1 and #2 rankings where un-rated...read somewhere Tony Bellew is line up for a shot at Ramirez in the near future?...he must be licking his lips after saturday...as he beat Mckenzie twice at lightheavy...i think that would leave Ovill out the picture...unless as you say a promoter offers the Argie an offer he cant refuse for the rematch Is Ovill Mckenzie related to Clinton and Duke??...all originating from Jamaica...Clinton these days has a gym in Dulwich...do you remember his son Leon?...he us
  23. Thought the Argies showd good sportsmanship allround to be honest...someone was holding a Malvinas t-shirt during Ramirez ring walk...thought they would play up hell during the national anthem...maybe they didnt realize Mckenzie was British...like you say he deserves a rematch
  24. He took the title off Willard i think...dont know the farmers name without looking on the bookshelf...Marciano would be small by todays Heavyweight standards...but would be a match for any out there today...or as you say in any era
