  13. And where did the black and tan come from in some terrier breeds. If the German word for terrier is Pincer then how did the Doberman Pincer get it's name ? Why is the Airedale classed as a terrier if it never went to ground ? It's just one of those things that the APB got the T stuck on at the end. It's the main reason that most, if not all, the old timers in the states just called them bulldogs. They hated the name terrier being on their pride and joys and most of them agree that there's no terrier in the mix. Like I said before, who in there right mind would introd

  15. And where did the black and tan come from in some terrier breeds. So do you think Rottweilers and Kerry Beagles are terrier crosses ? do you think the apbt are rottweiler x ? Not for one second nor do I think there's terrier in them. we will never know, thats for sure. i find it hard to get my head round the apbt not having any terrier blood in there somewhere as the same fanciers that did the rat pits and bull baiting would have crossed their dogs at some time. its not like it is now were we can jump in a car and travel to breed to a selected dog. them days i suspect they u
  16. Thats interesting..... If im not wrong the Cajun rules were brought out in order to stop a dog needing to scratch into a dead dog to obtain victory.......so if the sole objective was the first dog to kill or inflict as much damage on the opponent as possible is the winner then where is the need for gameness ?......which as we know was a trait that existed in these dogs long before Cajun rules came into play.......yet a trait not really associated with Bulldogs. Just something to think about. Sorry Gnasher, completely wrong. As for those who say they can see terrier influenc
  17. I have always been of the way of thinking that if there wernt no Terrier in there...why would they have called them Pitdogs... Bull&Terriers??...judging by illustrations of the time there seems to of been a dominant strain of Pitdog being matched in the pits of London around late 1700's to mid 1800's...that clearly had Terrier of some sort in the mix...compared to the bull baiting dogs...but looking at old paintings you can never be 100% sure...and heres another way of looking at it...back in 1998/99 there was an archaeological dig on the fens near Ely...(if my memory serves me right) ther

  24. Thats true...and probably paid Scott to take a dive to get his shot at the title...but whos Hughie fought?...whos he beat to deserve a shot at a world title?...team Fury have been calling out Wilder...but when they got the fight they suddenly start getting all picky about it...this was the golden opportunity for a shot at the title...from this punters armchair team Fury bottled it...because they knew there was a serious risk of their man getting KO'd...and they would much rather him fight some Brazilian bus driver or Romanian roadsweeper on the undercard of his cousins fight in October...you b
  25. I think you'll find they wanted to find an opponent who would only be half ready and wilder team thought picking a young boy and only giving him a few weeks notice would be easy pickings for them, when Peter said give us the full 8week training camp we will need and we will take it they didn't hear anything back wilder is awful and you can guarantee his opponent how will be another bum who has had barely any time to prepare When the date of the 26th Sept was offered it would of given Hughie over 7 weeks to prepare...would have thought a fit young up for it contender would have jumped at the
