  1. A spay can sometimes deal with pyometra as can antibiotics , but unless the jills seen by a vet as its off its legs now chances are it will die anyway sadly

  5. if you change what bedding you use weekly it should get rid of a lot of the smell. i dont particularly find intact hobs over smelly if there kept in a clean cage , thats whay i use paper because my washer cant cope with dog bedding & ferret bedding
  6. If there fighting like fury & there's crap flying everywhere i would separate them now, years ago i left 2 hobs to scrap it out & woke up to a dead ferret, something i wont repeat again after that experience if you have room to keep them separate i would anyway, give them a few more weeks & try again , at the end of the day there your ferrets so its your shout
  7. Lots of people have there ferrets inoculated, i have never had mine done though, some vets don't recommend it, some seemingly do , also there's no clear time when they need a booster, some folks have said there vets say yearly, others say 2 years , 3 years etc
  8. Just as a matter of interest cant you ask that the millatory police look at the incident rather than the civilian police
  9. I sometimes wonder what makes people tick , especially with silly outfits they stick on there animals, a dog coats one thing but some of the stuff out there is bizarre at best
  10. Sometimes washing is essential, I will give you a classic example of that , a ferret took in , found wandering was covered in some sort of engine oil it had picked up on its travels, now i did the fluffy thing and bathed it , using fairy liquid to cut through the oil,it was either that or leave it to wash its self clean & inject christ knows what
  11. I have a convicted paedophile living on the opposite side of the road to me, he served time for offences & when he came out after serving about 18 months , his car was wrecked window put through . it was like Beirut here for a while. police up & down all the time , i cant find any reference to the case online , it was in all the local papers & the free rag that broke the news at the time hasnt anything in its archives Like a lot of things the perps get the maximum protection even for the really bad crimes
  12. I think just like anything else you will get a variation in colour basically
  13. I have only ever bathed ferrets if they have been in a state , and i shame to say i use a drop of washing up liquid , and a good rince off , good as new if i have had one thats been a bit grubby i just change the paper bedding daily for a week or so & that also works
  14. I suppose the 40 quid fine for breach of the peace is better than a fine for parking in a disabled parking space, i would cut your losses & pay the 40 quid & get on with life I stand corrected just read this on the gov site If a non-disabled motorist parks in a disabled space in a private car park they can be asked to leave. But it can't be legally insisted. For instance at a supermarket, an employee can ask the driver to move their car from the reserved space. But they can't legally insist on it. If you think people are unfairly parking in bays reserved for disabled peop
  15. If there spitting fury rolling round in a ball separate them, but they do play rough dragging each other round , usually if the play gets rough the one on the receiving end usually lets there scent glands go & that normally forces a separation

  19. I remember sitting in the vets with a ferret some years ago & there was a woman with her carer , the old dear had summat wraped in a blanket , so i assumed it was a dog or a cat , thought no more about it, then they go in to see the vet .. they were in there a few mins & came out, it was a teddy wrapped in this blanket the old dear was saying there your all better now , i actually thought it was very good of the vet to be so professional , seems this teddy was the old dears world , there was no one in there with anything that needed urgent treatment , so it didnt really matter
  20. I think sometimes parents can involve there kids in to much after school stuff, my sister in law has had to sit back & take a long hard look at the kids after school life, they have 2 girls 12 & 8 It was getting to the point when the kids wernt getting any tea till gone 8 oclock at night & were miserable & basically unhappy simply because they didnt want to upset mommy 5 evenings a week the kids were at something or other , i am all for encouraging kids to have an interest after school. weather its a sport or something at the library , or cubs that sort of thing. but
  21. Different in which way? The domesticated ferret is an animal bred to do a specific job, and most bred from working stock will do it well. I can't see how any serious ferreter would want anything different to a good working ferret. My uncle kept pure polecats & their crosses when I was a kid for a while, he soon went back to normal ferrets.. These so called EU polecats are nothing more than the latest must have fad. Last few years it's been BEW's & silvers, now they're not so rare and not worth as much, these 'EU polecats' have appeared. In a few years time they'll be everywhere, g
