Same here have had lots of albino's over the years , cant say I have fond them to be any more pre disposed to anything than any other colour ferret to be honest

It's funny cos I have this wierd thing where if I've had a couple of whiskies the night before I have to get up for a brew at about 3 or 4am or I can't sleep....I can see the hutch from the kitchen window and it doesn't matter what time it is at night, or how cold it is, my jill will always be stood at the bars looking in the kitchen (probably thinkin "what's that tw@t doing making a brew in his micky mouse undies again???" ) :laugh:

Mine get fed more than they need once a day all meat , but when i fed other foods including dry i found in the summer they ate hardly anything during the day especially when its hot or humid , so i cant see the point in me adding small amounts of meat on & off during the day if its going to get sniffed & left, or dragged round & stored The other thing i have found this more notable in the dogs though, is the flies seem attracted to crap thats been produced from animals fed a processed diet , I know that ferrets arnt producing the chalky deposits like my dogs do . but even so t

I am interested to read some of you meat feeders are feeding several meals a day of meat rather than what I do just put it in at night & remove the next morning, I have never fed more than one feed a day with raw meat, once they have eaten what they want its removed till that evening, i dont feed dry food at all

what??? that is wierd! It isn't weird to me I don't like anticipation , its why I always got a smacked arse as a kid for opening the xmas pressies before xmas :laugh: lol i always knew by start of december all of what i was getting.parents are shit at hiding stuff lol I was a evil genius when it came to pressies. My ma would wrap them and hide them in her wardrobe, when they went out I'd run a pin down the sellotape that was holding the paper down and open it, and then re-wrap it putting new tape exactly covering the old tape so it looked untouched. One year I got 6 game

No there isn't one for ferrets specific , but lots use the spray which you will have to get from a vets, the spot on for cats is available from lots of chemists, I haven't use the spot on treatment so cant comment on it, but I have used the spray with good results, its also effective on ticks

Theres only me & my son here , but as i only work part time & he works full time & long hours i do the housework & the cooking , he is capable of running a house because i made sure he was, but the lad asks for nothing & never moans about getting up , so the least i can do is make sure he has summat to eat & that his washings done etc However if the lad was a lazy git i would kick his backside

Totally agree with you, the very fact they produce so little waste tells that there must be a hell of a lot of crap in even the premium complete foods

Have you thought about feeding raw rather than the processed food , surely if the vet was not able to advice you properly or to even try to sell you some of there food then I would seriously be looking for a new vet if something as simple as nutrition had fazed them

A pretty straightforward operation to most vets if the testes are both descended , most hobs are able to go in with other ferrets after there surgery within a month , that naturally varies with each ferret
