  1. There was one in Manchester a few months ago where the home owner killed a burgler with the burglers own knife when he heard his family come home. So a person breaks into your family home armed with a f*****g knife and that doesn't justify killing him? I can say without any hesitation or uncertainty if someone broke into my home armed with such a weapon I would be committing murder. I wouldn't want to kill them, I wouldn't want to be in that situation, but I would not be taking any chances.
  2. Although I understand your sentiment Gnasher, having your house broken into by 4 adult men intent on stealing anything you have of value and most probably doing harm to any of your family that may try and stand in their way isn't what I would call a 'cold blooded' situation. We are creatures of instinct and at such times many follow that instinct. And regardless of whether or not the Clint Eastwoods have the minerals, if someone is breaking into your home you should have every right to shoot the b*****ds and even kill them if you feel so threatened. That's a view shared by many. There
  3. im sure your secretary will be well chuffed...........................................................advertising the hunt cards on a forum full of antis............................................. not having a go mate ........................but you have given them a place to try and get a card................................... if they get there hands on a card your in for a long season.......................god for bid they do..................hope you have a good season I'm not being funny Whippet but it's common knowledge to go to a hunts secretary for a meet card. It's up to th
  4. Done, over 1200. How does that compare to the antis petition?
  5. I don't need f**k all lab, that's the point I've been trying to make with choking. My comment was tongue in cheek, as I'm sure yours was about slamming a dog that was fast to your forearm.
  6. By feck you Scots are hard b*****ds!
  7. By far the simplest way when caught out. If you're expecting such things then yes going prepared with a breaking stick is a great idea but I don't see the need to carry one around all the time when choking a dog off is so easy when an accident does happen. I wouldn't like to try splitting dogs up with the rear leg grabbing method mentioned, If it worked I imagine the next thing the reved up dog will do is spin round and sink em in deep!
  8. Just to clear this up before we digress I've never said anything against killing foxes with Lurchers (forgive me if I don't use the word 'foxing' but I find that word a bit to Warreneresque) I've done it myself when necessary in the past and I've even got a half decent single handed (retired) bitch here so I have absolutely no problem with that at all............... Sent a PM on this as I didn't want to drag the thread away. Warrener esque..... had to google that one, lol. I bought one of his videos a long time ago, never another!............ I've always just said, rabbiting, ratting, foxi
  9. Leveller I think your comment about the ethics of foxing with lurchers rubbed a few up the wrong way. I must admit I don't agree with what you said specifically on the topic of foxing with lurchers but I accept your point. Specifically on this topic; I'm not sure hunting is meant to be fair or unfair, define it? A true hunter knows when he has cheated his quarry in his heart, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth and it's not something you want to talk about afterwards.
  10. Does anybody know if there is anywhere that makes tailored/slim fit country shirts? I've a pretty slim build and cheap country shirts hang off of me! I don't want to buy top end shirts just to get them covered in blood and shit but can't stand to where standard fit ones anymore.
  11. Whether it's the right way or not, I've always taken physical control imediately by scruffing both dogs and then choke off the attacking dog. If you can't use your hands use a lead or a belt or whatever. Just choke the hell out of it and it will let go. My main concern is stopping the ragging so to minimise damage. Probably better ways. You can't be expected to carry a break stick especially if you're not experienced in the use of one.
  12. Once ya accept ya dogs are shite, life becomes so much less stressfull! No internet arguments, because everyone else has better dogs. Ya don't have to impress NET-HUNTERZ-XXX. No one want's to nick the wonder dogs they hear about in the pub. No pikeys wanting to match ya. Just you, ya mutts, a few mates and a lot of hours in the field......
  13. Hedz, just use that grey matter between ya tabs. There have been a number of perfectly legit threads on deer and fox etc that were fine and very interesting (a lot you gave good input with) that were all good untill a few ego's let their mouths run a bit too far. legit threads they all end up fecking stupid and deleted not because of picture's but because of lad's argueing Exactly, lads that want to prove how big their cock is because someone on the internet said theirs is bigger. So they throw all caution to the wind and just come out with all the illegal shit every other member had

  15. There's not a simple quick fix to this problem. The mods have a hard job dealing with this tool magnet forum, there just isn't a simple hard and fast rule to sort it out! As soon as you say anybody can post pics of hunting trips abroad you will get everybody blagging it as the next 'pre ban' or 'shot and retrieved' when they want to brag about there dogs. FFS if your going to brake the law in your own country try to be a bit imaginative with your made up story. Each potentially illegal post with whatever get out clause has to be judged by the folks in charge and if it seems a bit suss
  16. None of it is 100% waterproof and given a seasons graft isn't even showerproof. The Ram trousers are very warm and wind proof but complete overkill for anything other than Winter.
  17. Best way to hunt. Terriers have so much more to offer than simply earth work. Excellent work, hope to be out doing the same this sunday.
  18. No worries fella. I know exactly what ya mean.
  19. Christ, Chalkys post didn't last long. That must be a record even for him with the old 'auto delete'. Personally i thought it was a good bit of common sense say it as ya see it input.
  20. That's what I suspected. No one will bat an eyelid to someone fumbling around durring the day, probably assumed to be just workmen or a window cleaner etc. At night though it would be assumed they are up to no good. Plus at night people are in the house where as during the day they are usually at work. I wonder how many people with relatively secure yards (6ft solid fence/wall, heavy duty locks and fittings etc) and possibly even cameras still suffer from thefts.
  21. For those of you that have had dogs stolen or attempted thefts, what time of day were the thefts made? Was it while you were at work or at night? I really do think some sort of national survey should be done to help determine trends and where theft hotspots are etc and what security measures were in place. It'll help people know what to do to help prevent dog thefts.
  22. You're gonna get something about bacterial build up and placebo effects Pennys. I'm not really sure a raw diet significantly improves a working dogs performance as I haven't the time to satisfactorily test this, comparing my bitch to my mates (complete fed) is hardly a fair comparison as breeding and fitness are two relatively huge variables. Not to mention that just a few dogs in any experiment is no where near enough for a qualitative result. I'm also willing to accept that dog's over the 10'000 years or so they have been at our sides have 'adapted' to diggest processed human foods s
  23. Good old Boris saying it how it is; London Mayor Boris Johnson said he had a "deafening indifference" to the publication of the naked photos. "I think it'd be disgraceful if a chap wasn't allowed to have a bit of fun in Las Vegas anyway," he told BBC London 94.9 radio. "The real scandal would be if you went all the way to Las Vegas and you didn't misbehave in some trivial way."
  24. I don't drink and never have. Not for any particular reason other than I hate the stuff and so never really became a 'drinker'. I used to hate having to explain to people I don't drink, makes it awkward sometimes when asked for a night out but ya know it's gonna be a drinking night out and the person asking doesn't realise ya don't drink and I feel a right boring b*****d. I genuinely believe not drinking at all holds ya back a bit and kinda wish I did, but feck it I am what I am. Doubt I could afford it now anyway, or it would get messy very quickly!
  25. That's a cracking looking lurcher. Did you buy it specifically as a collie cross? The collie alsation isn't an uncommon cross, could have been along them line but thrown heavily to the alsation. Just speculation. Nice lurcher.
