If I hear someone breaking into my home, even if all they want is a ham sandwich out the fridge, I SHOULD have every right to grab a baseball bat and go downstairs and deal with them. If they so much as swear at me aggresively I SHOULD have the right to dissable them or kill them if necessary. There should be no risk of prosecution for the victim in a burglary who SHOULD feel safe taking the most deadly weapon he has to hand and engaging a burgler. Be that a hammer, knife, bat or shotgun. I think the statement needs putting into context. We keep hearing this single quote but are yet to hear the context it was in. It would be helpfull to be able to read the whole of his statement rather than just the one short quote. I'm not quite ready to hang the judge yet..... but the rope is being tied......

If they are being done for aggravated burglary then surely that means they had a weapon? If my understanding is correct then not just a weapon but a deadly weapon. The only reason I can think that he has been charged is if he shot at them without being in actual danger. I think the couple had been broken into 3 times previously and one of the times the dirty b*****ds shit on their bed.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about it. Others love it but it's not for me. I've got no greater chance of being an olympian than a bloke with no legs has, physically I'm genetically inferior to every olympian, should they open a handicap class for me where I get a 20m head start in the 100m sprint? Or perhaps start another olympic event for everyone that hasn't got what it takes to be an olymian where we all start with handicaps.... I'm always left scratching my head a bit with what jokes people think are okay and what are not. I know what I would and wouldn't joke about and to who I can get away with such jokes. Personally I don't think the internet is the place for 'sick jokes' like about dissabilites etc. Anybody know of any jokes about Maddy McCann? Are they acceptable? Must be if dissabled jokes are? I'm not judging anyone, It doesn't bother me what people post jokes about, but it's not something I would do or support. I don't think there is any need to blow it out of proportion though and react negatively.

Personally I'm not a fan of that American Hoggers, they all seem a bit half arsed like they don't really know what they are doing. Lady Hoggers is much better imo, the main man on there, Gary, seems to know his stuff and has much better dogs than the American hoggers.

A good idea when building kennels is to put the gutter at the foot of the bed section, between the run and bed, with a decent 4" step up to the bed area. Most people have the gutter at the front of the runs. It makes washing the runs out 10 times easier as you just chuck a bucket of water from the entrance towards the bed, a lot easier than chucking it from within the run to the door.

There was one in Manchester a few months ago where the home owner killed a burgler with the burglers own knife when he heard his family come home. So a person breaks into your family home armed with a f*****g knife and that doesn't justify killing him? I can say without any hesitation or uncertainty if someone broke into my home armed with such a weapon I would be committing murder. I wouldn't want to kill them, I wouldn't want to be in that situation, but I would not be taking any chances.

Although I understand your sentiment Gnasher, having your house broken into by 4 adult men intent on stealing anything you have of value and most probably doing harm to any of your family that may try and stand in their way isn't what I would call a 'cold blooded' situation. We are creatures of instinct and at such times many follow that instinct. And regardless of whether or not the Clint Eastwoods have the minerals, if someone is breaking into your home you should have every right to shoot the b*****ds and even kill them if you feel so threatened. By far the simplest way when caught out. If you're expecting such things then yes going prepared with a breaking stick is a great idea but I don't see the need to carry one around all the time when choking a dog off is so easy when an accident does happen. I wouldn't like to try splitting dogs up with the rear leg grabbing method mentioned, If it worked I imagine the next thing the reved up dog will do is spin round and sink em in deep!
