Weatherby Vanguard Series 2
Born Hunter replied to Born Hunter's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Not seen your Weatherby mate..... but I'm not questioning the quality of the rifle itself. The ones we looked at in the shop had me convinced. I read up on that RC model though and to my mind there's feck all difference, only really the stock (which is nice). LOL, swarovkis are very nice indeed.......... and very expensive! LOL. Not really looked at fixed mag swaro's mind. -
The basic rifle comes in at the 5-600 mark with the range certified sporting the nice Bell and Carlson green synthetic stock and a couple of RC stamps around a grand. Seeing as the standard series 2 is garunteed sub MoA (which is what defined the series 1 RC) is it really worth the 4-500 pounds more? I think the same B&C stock is 260ish dollars. Has anybody inported one? What are the hidden costs? Also, optics.... the S&B Classic 8x56.... German or Hungarian? My understanding is there's naff all difference in quality, just prestige in having a scope assembled in Germany?

It's messed up how society has warped our sense of humanity to the point where something like that is deemed acceptable by the majority. As most will know an air rifle or 22 rim is instant and leaves the little critter's corpse in a clean respectful state, yet society seems to look on it as barbaric...... hmmmm, right'o, I know where my conscience is on the subject. Good to highlight it Ian, too many think it's a peaceful end.

I really can't wait to get my first stalking rifle, like a kid waiting for Christmas. I'm jealous! That S&B 8x56 is what I was mainly considering for mine. I take it you rate it MIK as if I recall correctly you have the same on your CZ? Shame we can't use 22 CFs down south for the Roe, another puzzling bit of UK firearms logic.

....to later be liberated, colonised and defended by the greatest navy the world had ever seen, the Royal Navy. ie Gibraltar

Kev, our immigration problems and consiquential rise in right wing views is 100% down to two decades of left wing politics. It has nothing to do with our colonial past. You can find it as ironic or amusing as you wish, but that's all it is, there's no relationship between the two. If we hadn't had an empire but still somehow managed to become the successfull country we are, we would still be flooded with immigrants, nothing would change.

Fooking great idea! Wells is lovely, was there a couple months ago. Thinking of going again for a couple days in July, maybe have a mooch round Sandringham as I've never been but fancy it. Either that or Cornwall.

was up anderby creek shore fishing last week --sun reflecting off the sea bit of a breeze blowing the sea mist into my face ,for 2 hours I could of been anywhere clear mind not a thought in there .. Absolutely. I don't get away from it all a fraction as much as I should. Love going to a nice part of the British coast on a scortching day, rarely do but appreciate it all the more when I do manage to. It's as near as I'll ever get to meditation.

Summer rain or that salty sea air at the coast.

What has this to do with hunting.... f**k all, it's the general talk section. Our forces are fighting to stabalise regions that affect our lives either due to being breeding grounds for terrorism or having resources which we are dependant on. Tell me, what would your precious and perfect Ireland do if Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz? You'd look to the big nasty Navys of this world to reopen it and stabilize such a strategically important region to the world's economies. And just because we had an empire and did some bad things doesn't mean we have an ethical need to pay for it today.

Blimey. That's where I went wrong. I must have forgotten to put the mod on. Definitely modded both times and definitely a difference, but not a massive one. Maybe my HV are very quiet ones. Haha well something ain't right. Every sub I have ever heard has been practically silent, just a muffled pfffttt as the mod does it's thing and the receiver cycling the next round. Supersonic rounds go with a hell of a crack.... by their very nature.
-
Walshie, get ya ears tested. I've put a few HVs through my 22 too compare with the normal subs and there was a huge difference to my tabs! Daft question but was your gun moderated in both instances?

Best start preparing himself for the disappointment then lol

Our reputation, every country in the modern world knows what we're about, what defines the British and our history. Other nations respect us the world over. They have high expectations of the British from hundreds of years of achievement at the highest level. The military makes me very proud, again regarded as the best in the world by the rest of the world. It's capability to deal with any threat to sovereign territory and citizens anywhere in the world instantly is essential to any nation regarding itself as a serious world power. Sadly I'm not sure how long we will be able to kid ourselv

Probably April 2015 in line with the first 4 seasons.

The 'Fan Dance'. Apparently its nails. There was 3 reservists died attempting it in the heat of summer a couple of years ago... Yeah, I read recently that the investigation into their deaths is still ongoing with potential man slaughter charges for the SF guys responsible.

So I know this is a bit premature but do you think once this series is complete we'll see spin offs from the rest of the GoT world? A GoT Hobbit if you will. Such a rich history and detailed history/back story gives so much potential for that. The First men discovering Westeros and the ensuing war with the Children and the White Walkers.... The Andal invasion..... The Targaryen invasion or probably best Robert's rebellion against the Mad King. Never mind the potential for stories from the other continents.

"Action Aid for Animals, a Staffordshire-based charity that focuses on helping Eastern European strays, said the dog can enjoy a good quality of life, despite having disabled hind legs, incontinence and bed sores." These are the good guys?

Check out the mega brain physicist with autism... Starting to wish I never clicked on this thread. You get my point, people are selfish, they let you down, it's human nature, don't expect anything more and you wont hurt over it. LOL. And if you are the "gay" type to hurt over it, f***ing learn not to! LOL
