Some of those voting will have ancestors who arrived on these Isles on a longboat. Some will have family who arrived more recently from the European Union or the Commonwealth. Some will be students, resident for only a few years. Others will stay for generations. Some will even be English.

You cannot draw that conclusion as you do not KNOW and have no experience of being fully independant. You'll be able to make that judgement 20, 30, 40, 50 years after independance. Good luck... how many countries have won indy and asked to rejoin, we are a skilled people with the bonus of good resources I don't care.... you still can't draw that judgement....

I'll be gutted to loose the Scots in the Union, and not for monetary gain, but if that's what your countrymen want then I'll be glad to see you go because I want unity and not this bullshit fracture in our Union. Because two halves working as one carry more clout economically, politically and militarily than they do working as individuals.... it's that simple. I interpreted the question to mean that the baby would grow up to become a future equivalent of Hitler, not that we have gone back in time and been given the opportunity to kill the actual Hitler. I don't believe we can legally stop them. If they hold a British passport then they have the right to enter this country. We can't rescind their passport if British is their sole nationality because of the UN law on people being stateless. To my mind, the best we can do with returning IS fighters is to lock them up on some sort of terrorism charges and then deport them to the Iraqi Gov' for trial? Is it possible to answer that question truly honestly? I mean, me being me I couldn't believe they had 100% proof that child would grow up to commit genocide but in the hypothetical situation where a means to determine that existed then I would certainly look into culling the baby. I can't really answer if I would have the moral conviction to carry it through, I'm not sure I can hyper-rationalise to that degree of emotional detachment. If we're talking vigilantism then to my mind they're your only two options because anything less and the cross wired nonce will go on to f**k with another kid and it's left on your conscience.
