  1. LOL, that's not quite how it works. Really mate?.......please expand ? Plenty of scientist have beliefs, but what gives those beliefs or hypothesis credibility is testing them, making logical predictions based on that belief and searching for it. What prediction does a flat earth theory make? That there is an edge? That it's not continuous? Both of these were easily proven false. The predictions that evolution has made have been found! I don't want to turn this thread into an evolution argument.
  2. LOL, that's not quite how it works.
  3. Can't watch the vid but I'm gonna respond with "LOL".
  4. I'd be afraid after a couple of walks with you joe the dog would be filing for emancipation...
  5. We're not that selfish. Quite frankly if the whole union broke I'd loose all patriotism. England means f**k all to me without Great Britain.
  6. I'm not searching for all the big names that support NO, lol. I was just pointing out that like your Nobel Laureate that reckons there's a plan B (which curiously Salmond won't aknowledge or back) there's one that reckons the whole idea is f***ing madness and uses the EU as his example.
  7. And talking about Nobel prize winners, here's Paul Krugman's opinion; Well, I have a message for the Scots: Be afraid, be very afraid. The risks of going it alone are huge. You may think that Scotland can become another Canada, but it’s all too likely that it would end up becoming Spain without the sunshine. In short, everything that has happened in Europe since 2009 or so has demonstrated that sharing a currency without sharing a government is very dangerous. In economics jargon, fiscal and banking integration are essential elements of an optimum currency area. And an independent S
  8. I said we would be worse off post indepedence, not worse off if we don't have a currency union. It will have negative economic impact but we will also retain complete control over our currency giving security. Surely by definition the YES voters are Scottish nationalists? Unless they're intentionally voting against the national interests of Scotland? They may be English/whatever by ethnicity but they are voting for a Scottish nationality which surely makes them Scottish nationalists?
  9. I haven't said that...... your view is that it's a benefit. Mine is that it's a risk not worth taking. Are you seriously so ignorant you can't accept somebody that's not a Scottish nationalist might take a different view?
  10. without it being underwritten by the bank of England it will be monopoly money nobody will touch with a proverbial barge pole rubbish.... when you have control over the oil and gas in the north sea that gives you a very good reason why people will deal with you. if scotland has so little to offer why are the english bending backwards to keep the union Well then, set up your own currency with no debt........ That'd soon silence that argument. Surely a positive for the YES camp? All sunshine and rainbows up North.
  11. Luxenburg and Belgium, two countries reknowned for their feeling of nationalism and individuality..... I suspect British politics and sentiment differs somewhat to those two poxy countries. I have no idea what their situation was, but that's what they wanted. It ain't what I want!
  12. Yes......... that's why I don't want a currency union. I don't want a foreign state significantly effecting MY currency. I don't want a foreign state benefitting from the success of my economy. But this isn't about pros and cons, it's about your gamble on your future, the fate of which is in UK hands. f***ing madness! And the best way to silence that argument is present a contingency.... what will hapen to the pound with no currency union, what about balence of payments, extra trade costs, jobs, uk debt and interest payments.. how will the econemy be then? Worse off obvi

  14. What sort of analogy is that? If you're playing poker you don't tell your oponents anything, LOL. From that logic your band of merry jokers should not say anything "It's alright folks, we don't want them to know our plan, just trust us"........... hang on that is what they're doing. It's a f***ing alphabet currency so far! theres a list of posible options put foward by nobel prize winners, yes are fighting for one. plan a.... Well then I'd perhaps want a fecking Nobel Prize winner running my economic policy campaign and not the clown you do have! If he can't even regurgitat

  16. would the strength of the pound drop if scotland wasnt in a currency union( its already droping at the moment), would that have an effect on the rest of uk aswell, as masssive debts, balence of payments, extra trade costs etc etc it makes sense to everyone... NO, to YOU! But you're not the ones that get to make that decision. So again, the strategy is 'cross our fingers and hope'. There are certain thing I would support alliance/union in but currency isn't one of them.
  17. f**k it, you lot want the pound? Have it. Take the BoE, it's yours. We'll start a new currency.
  18. Yes I would want that, I don't want a foreign state having a significant influence on MY currency. If you vote for independance it will certainly influence my vote next year in the general election. That's how a lot of us evil English feel. You want Independance, then take it, if that's the decision your countrymen make then we'll do the same. Like I said Lab, it makes sense to YOU. We can't do it, hmmmm....... try us....
  19. I can't watch the vid so can't comment on the points made, But is that the strategy here, lets cross our fingers and hope the Brits see things the way we do? It makes economic sense to remain a Union....... however...... Yes it does.....for you. You stay in England and reap the rewards. LOL, okay big bad England. Whatever, that's the crux of this and always has been. No! A Union gives economic stability! But I was right? The strategy is 'well, it makes sense to us so they will change their minds'..... in the meantime just cross your fingers eh?

  21. A point that keeps being dodged is the Shetland/Orkney sovereignty dilemma.... They don't want to be Scottish, they'd much prefer to be British! Though given the situation the possibility of returning to their alternative cultural roots of Norwegian is on the table. With them goes a good chunk of hydrocarbon reserves........ "but our economy isn't dependant on NS oil!", so you won't mind them jumping back to the UK then, along with their 'assets'? Of course conspiracy was rife when the PM made his secret trip to the islands a little while back and wouldn't disclose the reason....... I
  22. Yup, and the Scottish regiments will be the building blocks of the SDF....... the creation of which the Scots serving in the Guards at least will not have had a say in. Of course post independace the Scottish troops do not have to serve in the SDF, they can continue to serve in the British military, though I imagine further redundancies will have to be made as the MOD budget drops with GDP. But nonetheless the Scottish regiments will be the foundation of the SDF, you'd think they'd get their say in matters.
  23. I know..... where have I said you won't do alright? But better than we will together? NAH....... The entire point in the Union is to give us strength and stability! Economically, politically and militarily! we wont have as big army and nucs, thats it... i can sleep at night with a yes vote Bollocks, in purely military terms you'll be f***ing gelded! In economic terms you have less stability being smaller. In political terms you have less strength and say on international matters "so what, we don't care about international matters! We're Scottish!" oh alright, you crack on like
