    Agree with you on all those points Wilf. I may have misunderstood you previously. Genocide should not be an option and it's silly for people to suggest it like it's even necessary. But imo if we're sending our forces to war then we are sending them to annihilate the enemy, simple. Under that attitude I personally believe that any person identified as an enemy combatant should be engaged. None of this bollocks of only engaging if they're an imminent threat, just very simply hunt them and engage them until the enemies will has been destroyed or they're all dead.     Why can't you shoot 'regularly' on the range with expanding ammo? It's perfectly legal for practice purposes. There is nothing to suggest otherwise other than your opinion. If someone wants to train 6 days a week to hunt 1 day a week there is nothing illegal about that. Just don't enter any competitive disciplines, stick to sensible practice.

    And come on wilf, to say mossad and the SS are the only people with the balls to hunt and execute enemy combatants mercilessly, to me is in stark contrast to historical reports. British special forces history is thick with it. Look at the 3 para rumours from the Falklands to. There's a whole host of very shady operations in our history in northern Ireland.

    Without speaking to the intelligence services, I'd say those that were left were left for intelligence reasons. Plenty of targets were very simply killed to iliminate a problem. And 'we' did exactly that in Iraq to deal with the rising insurgency in the post 2003 invasion era. Insurgent commanders were targeted, very effectively derailing that problem at that time. As for Blackman, executing wounded insurgents may not have been legal, but it should have been. Our attitudes to afghan have been widely reported to have been completely delusional.     I really don't believe the only two military options are Afghan style PC conflicts or wholesale bloody genocide. LOL There's is a much more sensible option, go to war with the very clear intention of killing every single enemy combatant! Every one of them! And keep killing them until the threat diminishes to nothing. By all means implement regime changes and long term fixes to stabilise a country IF it is deemed to be possibly effective.     Got to disagree Walshie. I think it's being blown out of proportion personally but I'm open to more detailed facts. If a shot is unsafe a heavy blow to the head with a crowbar is perfectly humane. Personally I can't see what the fuss is about. Also, how do you know the police use FMJs? I understood they used HPs, in pistol calibres at least?

    DB, you blame the UK/US for financing the Taliban precursors in our century's old battle with the Russians and you blame us for supporting Iraq in their fight against Iran (post revolution), and yet Iran and every other 'player' do exactly the same.     So what? Are you not grasping the core concept of NATO? It's primarily a nuclear alliance! Since the end of the Cold War it's become more of a military alliance but it was founded and remains a nuclear alliance to counter any other aggressive nuclear states.
