  1. That's exactly what I was looking at but then read their international policy and wasn't sure if I could actually buy it? I'm hoping it'll improve my mount/stability too as I have found the factory T3 stock wank in all honesty.
  2. I was quite happy to have the polished ply tbh. That walnut does look nice but it doesn't add anything to the functionality of a gun. Climbing in and out of land rovers, quad bikes and high seats etc, just not worth having anything glamorous.
  3. LOL, do you have anything to support that statement? Or was it a joke? The average height is increasing, it's just not quite 6ft yet. I don't know many 'desert folk' myself but see plenty of folk of African or partial African heritage and they are generally tall.
  4. Am I right in my understanding of Boyds stocks shipping policy, that they won't ship any rifle stocks with a value of over $100? https://www.boydsgunstocks.com/international-customers "Rifle orders with a product value over $100.00 CANNOT be exported (excluding Canada). There is no value limit on Shotgun stocks & Forends." I know some of you have experience with them.... Dropped my wood stocked Tikka at the weekend and fractured the pistol grip so need a replacement. I like the Richards stocks but they haven't replied to my email and their internet reputation isn't great. B
  5. For 2010; The ONS said the average man in England was 5ft 9in (175.3cm) tall and weighed 13.16 stone (83.6kg). The average woman in England weighed 11 stone (70.2kg) and was 5ft 3in tall (161.6cm). Like I keep telling everyone, I'm average height with a racey build! LOL
  6. I can't really think why getting one full rotation in the barrel would be important? Surely it's the rate of rotation that is important, which should be independent of barrel length? Interesting hypothesis if it is right, I just can't think why it should be.....
  7. Break your leg, it'll take your mind off your ribs............................... break the other when that stops working.
  8. Got a mate at work that's 6'4" apparently, I give him a fair bit of grief. It's not unusually tall, but tall enough to warrant regularly pointing out.
  9. You can get the proper peroxide from the chemists mate ..ps .wear some proper protective gloves Any chemists in particular mate? The strongest stuff I could get is piss weak 3%! I don't fancy trying to strengthen it and blowing the kitchen up, LOL.
  10. That's exactly what I was doing, did you not see where I repeatedly told him his problem was with the judge not the HRA? It's why I got so fed up with him being so dense ignoring my posts, for feck sake it's catching! Len never said that it was the HRA. He said human rights, which is a concept not law. The concept of human rights effects our judiciary in ways separate to the actual HRA. I'm going to walk away now.....
  11. bh, if a person involved in murder is spared jail because he or she may get depressed, do you think that's right or wrong? Well in that simple case I'd say it's wrong. But BGD sounds correct that the actual human rights legislation had nothing to do with it, however I also agree with you that the sentence was clearly based on this liberal rights bollocks that seems to have infected society, the judge deeming that the murderer had a right not to suffer potential depression through prison. I agree with both of you. This general attitude in society that allows for these injustices to occur
  12. LOL, as an educated superior could you not see that the crux of your disagreement was that you were arguing over the actual human rights legislation, whereas Len was arguing over the imposition of supposed human rights in the judicial system generally? As an educated superior would it not have just been simpler to point this out and say "we're coming from two different angles here Len, mate, let me explain....."? Or is it perhaps that you both were so adamant that you were each right (and of course from your own points of view, you were) that you couldn't see that?
  13. Has it ever occurred to you that unless you can manage to get through these threads without abusing people you don't agree with then perhaps you should keep out, regardless of how strongly you feel? Calling people stupid when they have not abused you is not in any way conducive to a progressive debate is it? You might think it's perfectly fair, but lets face it it's nothing more than abuse and simply leads to the deterioration of the debate, as so often happens on here. You wanted nothing more to do with me, so walked away, that was sensible and I respect that. Why not keep things civil for th

  15. I get the concept of rights (universal bit is redundant, otherwise it's not a right, it's a privilege) just fine. And I don't agree with them at all! Do you understand them? Essentially there's no such thing, there are these things we call rights which would more appropriately be termed pseudo-rights as they are determined and imposed by whatever authority is in charge. Given and taken at the whim of the system. Rights aren't just there, they're fought for, they're earned. As British citizens we have earned the privilege to those rights and the responsibility for them, as a foreign nationa
  16. The whole point of human rights is that they're universal so we've hardly got them confused, these seriously rare cases of scumbags gaming the system are a small price to pay to guarantee our own protection under the same laws. Would you really trust the government to decide who gets human rights and who doesn't? I'm pretty certain we can come up with legislation a bit more robust than that! Would I trust the government? Well I'm trusting the courts and they're letting me down! What's the difference?
  17. There have been several high profile cases - including one that may chime with the Libyan soldiers now seeking asylum. A Libyan convicted of 78 offences escaped deportation last Febuary on the grounds he is an alcoholic. The 53-year-old man, who is protected by an anonymity order, successfully argued he would be tortured and imprisoned by the authorities in his homeland because drinking alcohol is illegal. Iraqi Aso Mohammed Ibrahim left 12-year-old Amy Houston to die ‘like a dog’ under the wheels of his car after knocking her down in 2003 while banned from driving. Twice refused
  18. My manual won't get 40 combined but regularly does 36-37. Had 42 on a 500mile run. Otherwise agree with you entirely. As does everyone else I have spoken to. Only thing that I reckon is shit is the stop start tech. The engine takes too long to restart for me so I just switch it off.
  19. The back seats drop flat. If you need to seat 3 people then the just drop two of the back seats. I use stackable plastic trays from work for storage. If however you need a truck, then buy a truck.
  20. You keep knocking out kids then Tomo, I fear the oil industry would be in an even worse state without you as a consumer!
  21. Bollocks, it's a Freelander 2, completely different motor. Agree with what you say about the L200 though, they have a good reputation generally. But they do have a macho image, that's hard to deny and half the appeal. The compact SUVs and trucks are two different vehicles aimed at two different markets.
  22. PEDS at their simplest are any supplement that enhances performance. In terms of sport they're generally regarded as only the banned ones. Anabolic steroids would generally be considered as such but they are specifically to enhance muscle building, other types of peds can increase your body's oxygen carrying capacity, painkillers to raise pain threshold, stimulants etc etc. Caffeine would be a PED in the simplest of definitions.
  23. No, it sets a dangerous precedence for kids. No matter what there will be cheats. Bribery is rife in some aspects of sport, does that mean we should allow that too? Surely part of the character built from sport is the moral substance to play fair as well as the mental and emotional toughness to succeed. Begin giving in to the weaknesses of men and it looses something of it's purity, sport is about strength, not weakness.
  24. I might chance the non-woodsman stuff. I should probably go for the tougher woodsman but I'm not a big fan of excessively heavy duty stuff personally.
