Ferret Stoat Or Weasel Required To See Off Unwanted Rat
Born Hunter replied to Livemusiclovemusic's topic in General Talk
LOL, I don't think anyone has ever flicked the lamp on and said "Oh f**k, the air rifle lads have cleaned us out!" LOL. Don't take any of this personally. Air guns have their place but they do attract a certain kind of person. It's all tongue in cheek fella.......... -
What A Stupid Place To Put That
Born Hunter replied to walshie's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Stop crawling about the hedge bottoms of the local lambing fields then! There might not be someone come by in time to save you in the future! -
Ferret Stoat Or Weasel Required To See Off Unwanted Rat
Born Hunter replied to Livemusiclovemusic's topic in General Talk
Look gents, all this speculation is mute now. I'm sure Command has their best man boarding the helo (that's hee-low, not hello) as we speak! He would have been there already but he had to wait for his Ghillie suit to come back from the dry cleaners. Obviously his identity is a closely guarded secret........ for 'persec' reasons of course. There'll be grainy black and white footage uploaded to a secure youtube channel shortly! -
Ferret Stoat Or Weasel Required To See Off Unwanted Rat

You mean Special Operations Command, Air Rifle Tactical Division? Just don't leave them alone in their Sniper hole, they'll tell you the Vaseline and tissues are for weapons maintenance.............. it's a lie!- 44 replies

No I don't run them on anything other than pigs for a few reasons. I have in the past while hunting pigs sent 2 dogs to a coyote. Coyotes would be 200 yards away when sending dogs so they would have a pretty good long race. Afterwards the dogs would be pretty gassed and then of course I'd find some pigs soon after. 2nd such runs will cause some swelling in my stags ankle the next day and lasts for a few days. We have cottontail rabbits and Jack rabbits here. The Jacks would be comparable to yalls hares. Same thing with his ankle when sending him to them. 3rd is i will sometimes hunt my dogs

Hey BlackStreak, do you hunt your lurchers on anything other than hogs mate? Either general varmint hunting or running fast stuff. You guys have a lot to go at on that side of the pond!

Transporting Guns & Ammo
Born Hunter replied to David Aiken's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Nothing visible, bolts out if practical. Personally I had my windows heavily tinted to help hide any sporting paraphernalia that might suggest guns/ammo kept in the vehicle. Obviously vehicle always locked with immobiliser (standard in modern cars) and parked within sight if possible at services. Anything beyond that I would consider unreasonable and would argue that in court if necessary. -
“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.” I've nothing of worth to contribute to these threads but they can make for interesting reading.

Figure a plan out, clarity and direction usually solves the cause of the problem. Doing something productive, anything, just makes me feel like I'm moving forward, not getting swallowed by whatever shit is grinding me down. To be honest, I'm more often just a grumpy twat than depressed. LOL The countryside and the gym are two great outlets.

Shotgun Advice!!! Female Shooter
Born Hunter replied to Ambo91's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I doubt any Benelli is a bag of spanners. 5lb 13oz is a good light gun and 24" as short as you can legally go. Nice find BH. LOL, you're right of course but I like to cover my arse. No probs Ambo. -
Shotgun Advice!!! Female Shooter
Born Hunter replied to Ambo91's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'm sure it was one of these; https://www.guntrader.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Benelli_Shotgun_Montefeltro_For-Sale_160321095009009 It might be a bag of spanners but it's the most compact/light sporting auto I've ever handled. -
Shotgun Advice!!! Female Shooter
Born Hunter replied to Ambo91's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Don't Benelli do some short barreled autos? I remember handling one a few years ago in my local that was lovely and light, something like a 25-26 inch barrel. -
Grouping politics into the conservative (right) and liberal (left) is not something I find very realistic or helpful. However.... If we were to be so crude as to separate politics into conservatives (politics not party!) and liberals and make the reasonable assumption that Brexit is generally a conservative stance whereas the EU is a liberal one then is it really surprising that the polls are showing a pro EU lead? In the UK at least conservatism has proven to be a less active movement, but nonetheless real and massive. The liberal view is often the one heard loudest and most strongly

I'm not expecting the numbers this year. Just don't seem over run with them like usual. Dunno about everyone else?

Little Poland! f***ing lifting with them! Those that aren't from the baltic are natives, which is far worse! LOL LOL. Not without its history though, just gone down hill the last 5-10 years. The surrounding villages are nice though, just Grantham itself. Stamford is very nice, old money and loads of history. All the villages are quite nice, a lot of stone mined locally. But yeah flat, lol. That part is more wooded so not quite so featureless but get out further east/northeast and it's bleak.

Rutland water and burghley house near by. I mean it ain't Scotland but it's not a shit hole either. Good access if you drive with the A1.

Can't say I've ever been to south Witham but the area is alright. I'd definitely be using Stamford rather than Grantham as my go to town though, lol.

Agreed, but which ones are any good, I been looking at some. I'm looking at buying this; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-UK-Stocks-12MP-Ltl-Acorn-5210A-940NM-Wildlife-Hunting-Scouting-Trail-Camera-/261556351377?hash=item3ce5f93191:g:FxoAAOSwajVUTgfu A thread in the wildlife forum seemed to praise it.

Cracking post! Enjoyable bit of sport by the looks of it, even more so to enjoy it with a mate. It's not very often I see bucks like that around here.

http://cmsdata.iucn.org/downloads/iucn_informingdecisionsontrophyhuntingv1.pdf That's a briefing paper by the IUCN to the EU on the effects of trophy hunting and proposed trophy importation bans. Something probably backed by the majority of the public and sadly the majority of British sportsmen, either directly or by apathy. I'm sick of seeing how policy on all levels is more often than not driven by emotion and populism than by cold hard evidence based science. It's undemocratic, unproductive and plays into the hands of the political classes. This thread is my small effort to chan

Personally I can take or leave it with no problems so for me it isn't addictive as I said before I haven't had a toke for a month and feel no urge to and that's coming of a few months heavy use. That's fine fella, and to be perfectly honest there are plenty of things folks are addicted to that don't really have all that great a negative influence on their lives. I just think it's totally misleading to make cannabis out to be safe or non addictive or whatever. I don't touch the stuff for my own personal reasons but equally I'm pro legalisation so I don't really have a bias on this top

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11145094/Cannabis-can-be-highly-addictive-major-study-finds.html Now, when you read 'linked to....' it tends to mean correlation as opposed to causation, so you have to be careful how you interpret what is said but for anyone to say cannabis isn't addictive I find a little odd.
