Even the rivers are not safe now ?

Fled the ocean when word got about that this amphibious predator was stalking the kelp! -
100%, once you have a record, you have given the licensing dept. much more freedom to refuse and grant.
-
That may be a general rule applied at the discretion of the forces but iirc it's not explicitly stated by law or the official Home Office guidance.

That's what I had in my head. Is it since sentencing, sentence served or crime? He was 18 months on bail. Either way it's not far off now. They're wank with grants nationally now anyway so I suppose it's a moot point.
-
For what he needs it for a lump hammer would do.

While we're on the topic, is there a general minimum time since sentence/crime to wait before even asking for a license? GBH without intent and a 2 year suspended being the worst on the list for the individual. Legally it's not a hard no (3 years custodial being the threshold) but I expect some time will have to pass to build up evidence of good character.

Got to be careful these days mate, so much law protecting employees from frankly anything. Language can be considered gross misconduct. Facing the 'problem' with understanding and communication, and if necessary plain and straightforward language, though isn't illegal, yet.

Never until I took on my current role/employment 5 months ago. A lack of clarity and structure from the director level has led to it imo. Fortunately though I have their support so you just roll with it. Most of it can be dealt with by simply confronting it. Part of the reason for my employment was to be a part of changing that culture but it's a slow stressful process. If they were a pack of hounds I reckon the huntsman would be using his pistol a lot.

And on that, I think we are all doing a disservice to the woman who has made a stand for us here. She should be lauded for this all over but instead will probably just be a 'detail' in the news. As you say, we shouldn't take this laying down, but if we don't protect those with the courage to make a stand we only ever will.

They might be. I suppose it'd have been very hard to support a case until now. The head of recruitment falling on her sword makes any cases hard to dismiss I'd think. Then again, it reads that the 'pause' hasn't taken effect yet. Seems to me the the chief of the air staff has this arse about face, women and minorities discriminate against the services, not the other way around.

Dare I say it, there's a time and a place for this sort of discrimination, such as recruiting for human intelligence and unconventional units, but not the RAF. Sounds like there's still a shred of common sense left to oppose this, but it's shocking a man can make it to such a position in the first place.

Bet they don't loot the Koreans!

I take back everything I said!

It's just not that complicated for me. I totally understand the anti/vegan view and I thoroughly enjoy being thrust amongst a load of them who can hold a respectful conversation. I don't think less of them for their views. But that man has actively tried to ruin my mates life as a result of his views. And again I get his reasoning and if the shoe was on the other foot I'd probably agree with him. But that's 'shots fired' in a personal situation. When that happens you have to pick your side. I could still very happily sit down with the great man himself and have a good natter. But I'd be l

As an adventurer, no. As someone I'd have liked to spend time with, probably yes. I defended Fiennes as not being an anti, and I was wrong. I've spent time in the company, and got along with, other out right anti's, not necessarily the active sabing/monitoring types, but flag flying vegan/anti types. But to say it doesn't lowering someone's standing in my eye's would probably be a lie.

I could rattle off a few that come across as similarly self confident and, as you put it, not needing to prove anything. Bosun is certainly one. Thing with Chris though was that he was usually balls deep in the sort of threads on here that are absolutely odds on to go sideways, but he would keep his composure no matter how mental they got. A lot of the other decent lads just keep out of it. Which is a shame, but was what was defining for me. I remember years ago Bosun calling out a bit of a hero of mine, Ranulph Fiennes, for being an anti. I wasn't having it and we respectfully disagreed

It came across. He's a lad I'd quite liked to have met at some point if the opportunity ever arose.
-
He's not been on here in a while now but imo one of the most 'evolved' debaters this site has seen is Chris Jones. Rarely would he lose his respectful tone with an opponent. I really admire it. I believe it shows a level of maturity and mental strength/endurance that for most us doesn't survive 'first contact'. Tbf you're very good at it too.

I was gonna crack a joke about not bothering having a whip round this time, lol, but it’s Thursday and he’s not posted yet. Anyone been in touch?

Baby-oil and carrots found in horse groomers car

I thought it was a joke when I first saw it. I was a bit shocked when I found out it was legit! -
Great posts! I wish we had the same culture of pig hunting over here. More so with the dogs though, I'd be all over it. TBH much of the kiwi hunting culture is massively enviable.
