I haven’t watched live television, beyond about one program a year maybe, for years. When I stay at mates and the box is ticking over I find it fascinating how bizarre ‘normal’ tv is. If there was ever a blackout, the establishment would be f****d.

Really? You can't just take your own tent on the ferry? Or do you mean kayak? I've been looking at transport and the ferry is £65 each way from Penzance, but no vehicles allowed, which is a bit shit tbh. Still looking into it though.

That is phenomenal. But it certainly doesn’t make the world record I posted ‘nothing’. Activity dramatically reduces the time your body can last without dumping the CO2 and taking on more O2.

Yeah I’ve known about those guys for a while. They’ve actually evolved to handle it better. But I think their average dive is a minute or less. Cool experience though.

The mad thing is that the vast majority of it a psychological adaptation, not physical. Unlike other performance sports. His bodies ability to hold breath is little different to before he started, he just trained his mind to be comfortable and controlled in the physiological extremes. Its just mental watching them go up and down relentlessly.

Far be it for me from my laptop to question you but are you talking about '03 or '91? I'm 90% sure Saudi refused the US in '03 and most forward basing was in Kuwait? But yeah, it's mental to think Afghan was in any way a significant staging ground for Iraq. In fact it split forces.
