  1. No sweat, I spend my life pondering shit like this, so it's an enjoyable way to pass some time even if it goes nowhere.
  2. Is the purpose of the flow simply to remove shit then? If so I'd ensure there is some 'buffer' water between the in/outlets at the bottom and the mesh. This will allow dead space to dissipate the turbulent waters energy, minimising turbulence above the mesh. I'd also minimise sharp angles in the proximity of the flow, I'd try to build the geometry at the bottom to minimise turbulence and resistance to maintain laminar flow. That would be my thinking.
  3. Given how slow everyone was in reacting, had the gunman been drilled in dealing with malfunctions, she'd be dead. Looked like a dud or even empty chamber.
  4. Kids have become political weapons and she’s just another one. For some reason the words of children were being seen as pure and refreshing. Madness. But equally I never understood how folks could give her the shit they did. She is/was literally an autistic child who’s been manipulated by a political group. To me that’s surely something to be pitied, not attacked.
  5. It took you a couple of user names but you are a reformed man. An upstanding member of this elite group of men That's why
  6. I’m quite certain the ten one thousand page threads on covid will be settled within another two or three posts. No doubt in my mind that’s a worthwhile endeavour!
  7. Because they’re right and if they just say their bit one more time, then the others will finally understand and concede defeat!
  8. Wrong Born Hunter, but I approve of this.
  9. Like Stopend said, it'll already be priced in to the ticket cost. Adding a ridiculous number like £200 out of spite would simply ruin the bottom line and end the event. It's a filthy indictment of modern society nonetheless.
  10. Ukraine has launched a counteroffensive to retake Kherson in the south.
  11. Bet the chinks have a ground up endangered animal to cure that!
  12. Walt’s having a f***ing breakdown!
  13. The first hand accounts of Africa tend to stress how completely out of touch western ideals are there. The concept of sustainability, ‘take two but leaving one’, is madness to them. Take everything because you don’t know if you’ll live long enough to see the one you left multiply! And as much as ‘poachers’ are the enemy of the day, in reality we could eliminate poachers and the wildlife would still be annihilated. The encroachment of civilisation is the biggest threat.
  14. I reckon turn of the century would’ve been even better. When Africa truly was still the dark continent. But also unfortunately before any thought for sustainability had developed. Still, must’ve been incredible to see the richness and density of wildlife and human cultures. Before ‘civilisation’ was thrust upon the place.
  15. Ironic that 'trophy' hunting fees support anti poaching efforts on more land in Africa than the tax funded national parks. Also ironic that the private ownership and right to sell hunting of southern white rhinos is what saved it from extinction. Absolutely staggering the shit that gets written on here.
  16. Remarkably, no to that too. I'm the least techy nerd you'll ever meet. Any IT problems get pointed at an IT nerd. Any technical issues tend to result in me shouting at the laptop until someone with literally any amount of knowledge rushes over to tell me to unmute the mic or something equally as simple.
  17. No, not a sausage. Very uneventful apparently. The amount of times I've been on a plane and heard the call "if you are a medical professional please make yourself known to the cabin crew, one of your fellow passengers is in need of assistance" has been a bit concerning though! All pre-vaccine FYI.
  18. "Ah yes, my mistake, poor breeding and public education............. GLUE!"
  19. I like to glue pound coins to the pavement outside foodbanks for entertainment.
  20. The Tory life’s good isn’t it! Try the windows down with the air con on for real toxic capitalism.
  21. My point was though that an excess of that nutrient causes ecological damage. The fact it’s a nutrient doesn’t make it intrinsically good. Nature is about balance, tipping that balance causes a cascade. I’m not going to change anyones mind on climate science or climate politics, just like I wasn’t with vaccination etc. Such big science topics are pointless endeavours on here. They go round in circles. But much simpler topics can be more easily discussed.
  22. My local 'big' gun shop used to be shit at actually getting back to you with inquiries and orders. In the end I stopped bothering. Recently though, I needed a part only dealers could order from GMK. After speaking to the shop and them promising to get back to me, I phoned GMK myself, spoke to a very helpful gent in the workshop, got the part number and checked how many were in stock. Phone my shop back up and gave them the deets. Week later they contacted me to tell them the part was in, restoring my faith in them a bit. Dunno if I'd have got the same result had I not done the leg work myself
