What's with this 'we' and 'us'? IMO that's half the problem, pretending that what white folk did a few hundred years ago is somehow our responsibility today. 'We' feel a bit guilty about it and try to scrub it out and 'they' feel like victims of it and try to make us guilty. It's all bollocks!

Ricky Gervais It's funny, when people go through a bad experience and say "I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy", fair enough perhaps not your worst enemy but take five minutes and have a think, would you wish it on that slimy infectious cuntface Ricky Gervais? That's right, that's why we never hear anyone say "I wouldn't even wish it on Ricky Gervais"! No fate on this planet too bad for that weasel.

He'd have had fins and besides he didn't swim the whole way back, he was picked up. Edited, no apparently he did swim back to land. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/10/22/man-swam-tiger-shark-dramatic-four-mile-chase/

Clearly not a member of this great forum. A THLer would have tamed the beast and rode it back to shore like Poseidon, then once back at shore carved the big fish into steaks and dined like a hero.... Just saying

So what's needed is a elite christian special forces team composed of volunteers! The bible angle offers a wealth of cool potential names too, The Arch Angels, Team Nemesis, The Wrath of God Squad! I'm a genius!

Just many tons of wheat and kibbled maize over near 2000 acres! I'm not a twitcher really but it's very satisfying seeing the land come alive with song birds etc after years of management. On another shoot I was invited on for the keepers day last Jan we were lined out for the first drive and the place was absolutely buzzing with bird song, so much so I took a video to remember the atmosphere.

And the Mcmanus rescue attempt from back in 2013. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokoto_hostage_rescue_attempt

This article has a lot more information in it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/10/19/hunt-militants-kidnapped-british-missionaries-nigeria/

My Hunting Set Up For This Year...pic Heavy Warning
Born Hunter replied to Ted Newgent's topic in Big Game Hunting
Great stuff. Well done. -
Fair enough. You know better than me mate. Are you surprised that there is so little mention of it in the media?

I think the sort of men that would be sent to risk their lives are the sort of men that would be chomping at the bit right now! I've no sympathy for our soldiers, just respect. It's a slippery slope to start treating soldiers like victims imo. I think the whole thing is moot anyway. If the government don't act then it sends a weak message and will only encourage this.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/10/18/four-britons-kidnapped-nigeria/ Apparently missionaries giving medical care in rural Nigeria. Proper Nigerian bandit country! I'm sure many folks will condemn them but I can't personally condemn such an act of charity. It's not making big news over here so I wouldn't be surprised if the British Gov' leave it to the Nigerians.

From the little I have seen of it so far I would definitely have a look.

Who are you writing this report for Wellington?
-
They do generally appear a heavier build than the sort of hunting dogs seen in Aus etc. Some look a bit like Dogo's though. They don't necessarily strike me as being heavier than a typical catch dog type, such as what the yanks may use. If there's money in it though they'll be breeding for the sport and not the field so I'm sure you are right. Much like how breed lines have diverged in many other hunting sports when some form of trial or competition sport has been developed.
-
I'd be interested to know the rules. If it retains it's hunting heritage I'd imagine the dog just has to physically restrain the boar in as short a time as possible, at which point the dog would be broken off and the trial over. BGD, it reminded me of the yank hog dog trials too. Them Wild Boar make the yank hogs look tame in comparison though imo.
-
I haven't seen any pictures of multiple dogs being used?
-
Maybe no one wants to see a big dog muller a boar so it costs more for that? The more sporting the dog the cheaper the price maybe.
-
Animal fighting sports aren't my thing either but the ones that are offshoots of hunting and try to stay true to that do intrigue me. There's not much in the way of information in that article. It probably started as a way of schooling catch dogs. I'm not going to get too high and mighty about it.

I keep meaning to. Looks brilliant frankly. I watch a bit of the kiwi stuff. Going out with 3 or 4 dogs into the bush, drawing scrub and creeks with them, putting in 10-20 miles a day on foot with nothing but a big knife or a lever action and coming home covered in mud blood and sweat..... that's real hunting.

Found this quite interesting. https://widerimage.reuters.com/story/indonesian-villages-pit-wild-boars-against-dogs?utm_campaign=web-app-launch&utm_medium=banner&utm_source=rcom&utm_content=ros Not sure what the exact rules are or how closely it is associated with hunting these days. I wonder if it's a bit like what field trialling is to gundogs? Or if it's now a full blown specialist sport like greyhound racing is to coursing? I was imagining there would be much worse photos than there are but then Reuters is good for not pushing an agenda.

I'm sure the word Illuminati is used in the clip... I can't be bothered rewatching it for a timestamp though! It is and I turned it off the very moment it was spoken! LOL
-
Got to be smarter than that. He'll get done for GBH now.
-
Yeah ages ago. I'll have to watch it again. I seem to remember something though that stood against it but on the whole was quite plausible. Of all the popular conspiracy theories the JFK business is the only one I really wouldn't be surprised if something did come out.

For those interested in the bullet paths and resulting wounds this is quite interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kennedy_autopsy I'll warn ya though.... If you found the video of his head being splattered a bit shocking the autopsy photo of his head all opened up might be a bit much! LOL
