Hunting with Bows is there a limit on poundage
Born Hunter replied to ferretracer's topic in Big Game Hunting
Yeah but under UK offensive weapon law ain't there a caveat for people that use such 'weapons' legitimately? For instance a machete is an offensive weapon if you fancy a mooch down the highstreet but it isn't if you are cutting brush? I think a speargun is perfectly legal if being used for legit fishing purposes. -

I've never heard of any license being needed to buy or use. -
Yeah, it sounds like there is a huge risk in swimming them out. But the worlds best cave and water rescue people are on the scene so if it can be done I'm sure they're best placed for it. Drilling, if logistically possible, wouldn't be without risk either. I'd assume the ground is mostly stable rock but if it's only positive pressure keeping the water from rising then dropping a hole in from the surface would cause immediate flooding. Not sure how likely that would be. Plenty of expertise and professionalism in that industry to determine the technical possibility and risk.
-
Ah, I see they mention drilling there. Bound to be US, UK or French oil industry drillers not far away at all, used to working in adverse conditions and probably have the technology to achieve say a 24" cased well dropped right into a near by air pocket. Not saying it's possible but shouldn't be immediately dismissed either.

I believe saltwater bowfishing may not be legislated against in the UK.... but that's about it. LOL -

That's minimum draw weight mate, not maximum. I think it's state law too, not federal so will probably vary but broadly speaking there are minimum draw weights for hunting in the US. No max to my knowledge. Paul Schafer was known for hunting all sorts with 80-100lb+ draw trad' bows and many compound hunters today are using 80lb+ bows. -
f***ing hell the shit riflemen argue about. Calibre tarts!
-
That's mad! I see on that it suggests they are considering digging them out? I wonder if they could drill.

You're welcome children.

Aye you have to be a bit savvy with them often. I avoid them until I'm well out of my depth because I haven't found one I like. Last time I was at a vet was for my terrier bitch who had had a rat tear her third eyelid and it was hanging out of her eye. He took a bit of a critical view of it all, which I didn't appreciate, but sorted her out right enough. Sorted me out some antibiotics and I asked if they were drops or tabs, he said tabs and then hurried to give me drops too and amended the bill. The f**k did I need drops for if he was happy to just give me tabs before I mentioned owt?

I can imagine Scots conversation now. Hot topics included humane disposal of social degenerates, latest progresses in eugenics, the threat of the new Soviet Republic and strategy for the fourth Reich. No wonder he hates the yanks! @Scot

As soon as I heard "there's no rules this time" on the trailer I suspected as much. Shame.......... Like there were any fecking rules last time, he smoked two children at the dinner table ffs! LOL It's a bad move when making a sequel to depend on more wow and daring. Plot and quality acting should be #1.
-
Free market folks. If you don't like the price, go to another vet. If you can't find one cheaper then it's because it can't be done cheaper, there's no significant demand for the exact service you want or you ain't looking very hard.
-
Mate, I've heard that a lot. The yanks have plenty of culture, if they didn't it wouldn't feel so 'different' over there and Europeans wouldn't always be moaning about 'Americanisms' infecting our own. New York has all the culture that Paris does, it's just different.
-
LOL that's such a stereotype. There is definitely that sort (especially Texans ) but as a whole I think they're a great nation. They seem to be way more friendly than Brits imo. But not because they're nicer or anything they just seem to have less inhibition. Brits are savage friendly when we let folks 'in'. I looked up what the word is for a person who like American culture once, like a Francophile likes France and an Anglophile likes Britain.............. yeah they're ain't one!

You traitorous b*****ds! Happy 4th of July.

Gnasher, who's he? Never heard him mentioned on here before...

I don't like shooting fox with less than BB personally but have done a number of times. Having a terrier blooded dog about like your Jess imo is an essential part of foxing with shotguns. I remember one particular time when my little bitch bolted a vixen from a drain which I rolled with 40gm of #3 broadside and was very disappointed to see it run off wounded. My little black bitch found it and caught it hundreds of yards away. Middle of last season we were beating the last drive and I was working my cocker and letting the black bitch do her thing, business like as f**k no need for my

British f***ing exceptionalism!

Cant blame the yanks on this one mate. Theyre thai navy seals, not US. Lol, just curious why the main voices were British accent. We get f***ing everywhere, lol.

I read a piece by some Liverpool uni academic and he said that because the moor was so ill managed the heather is really long which has led to a more intense burn which may have damaged the peat beneath essentially scaring the moor. It'll make it very hard for regrowth apparently. He was basically making a case for regular burning.
-
Why are there British accents?
-
LOL I'd say you're doing alright for yourself.
-
It's big business in the US, everyone has to have a brand and catchphrase. Lol Still I like that their hunting culture is mainstream. Ours is somewhat niche if not marginalised.

Bang on mate. I got turned off Eva Shockey when I realised she was more of a promoter than hunter. I think she's good in that role but I don't need shit selling to me or winning over in the hunting debate. Her old man has just opened a museum of natural history though that looks amazing. Another bowhunter Greentree 'introduced' me to who's dead down to earth is Jessica Byers (followherarrow). She did tahr in NZ, guided, shortly before Greentree went over recently and hunted his place before that. Their joint podcast was good. f**k I sound like a stalker or that I know these people, l
