  1. good x ,if you get a good one ,try and have the alsation as the mother ,you will get a better dog out of that way bred . ??? why? pups inherit genes from both parents no matter which breed is sire or dam. unless one parent is homozygous-"stamps its type",which is unlikely to show in first cross offspring.
  2. Nice one fireman. Good to see those plummers causing havoc among them!
  3. What you really mean is it bites & behaves like a ball of fury when you try to do anything with it , spits , hisses & is generally antisocial ? You related to my missus? What I mean is he is a polecat and behaves like a polecat (something I was unaware of when I acquired him), no hissing or spitting but antisocial I will give you. Im not looking to fob him off on some unsuspecting owner, you have a suspicious mind Kay. Tabs Oh come on what did you expect it to behave like perhaps a little research before was needed , i dont think its you, it will behave like
  4. I used to have a 3/4 bred did the same. She gave one the collie eye,as they do when herding, for over 3 mins one night, neither dog or rabbit moving, until the rabbit lost its arse and took off. The dog nailed it in about 10 yards. Frustrating sometimes but entertaining!
  5. 2 very young pups there. They should still be on basic training not seeing live stuff. Read similar post on another forum about an 8 month old pup killing 5/5 h my hares. even if they fluke it,theyre destined for failure. make it stop, its making my head hurt.
  6. All this absolute bullshit because the lad let his PUP rag a carcase!!?? Un-be-f****n-lievable!!!! If this is the level of intelligence of the average terrierman its no wonder they banned hunting!! You do yourselves proud-read back from the beginning of the thread and if you have any sense at all you will see what i mean. Un-be-f****n-lievable.
  7. standard poodle is very intelligent and strong. As has been said, they are worked on the continent and i believe have been used by the police in Germany.
  8. Nice one toka. He's certainly on the ball and muscling up too.
  9. ha ha get your point you wouldent think i went to oxford university lol :clapper: fair play mate!
  10. The vet sounds a bit pompous, but ALL dogs should be fully vaccinated, esp.working dogs. 50% of rats carry lepto.
  11. The pup shows a natural hesitation,as most would. Whats the difference between "pups in the back yard" ragging a tail and an older pup ragging a dead one? If an antipathy to fox is ingrained in the pup it is more likely to stick at it when at work. the pup has taken a good first step by the looks. keep it up mate.
  12. Me too! just wait the out come ,it will add up in the end ,i have not been any where near his home i dont know where it is ,but he is a liar ,lets see what he has to say .
  13. What harm is allowing the dog to rag a dead one going to do!!?? They learn that it is quarry without getting hurt too young. If they get really exited by it so much the better. they will soon learn a bit of discretion when they get a slap from a live one,but if they're fired up they will stick to the job. Have none of you used a dead one to show a youngster? Hard to believe!
  14. That's bullshit. The country is full of good dogs with shitty owners who wouldn't know how to get the best out of them and never will. I've just read a post regarding some poor mutt called bailey who hasn't been given a chance but is ready to be enter into the bring a buy sale known as lurcherdom. Some knuckle head will buy it cos it looks the part even though the dog hasn't been trained and they don't have the capabilities to f*****g train it. he'll use it out lampin, it'll pull down a sheep, get passed from pillar to post....... all the while the f****n dog could be the best thing since BS (
  15. Try borzoixbedlington. Not been suggested yet.
  16. some advice-take a shovel with you. To over run a dog like that is sheer stupidity. Best case scenario-you carry the dog off the fields. Worst case-you bury the dog. Ive done all the numbers games and lost an exceptional bitch at the end of a grueling nights work. forget the numbers and enjoy the sport. 100 one dog-CANT BE DONE. i can asure u ,i will know when a dog has had enough ,iv seen enough of other peoples dogs die in the field ,because of their stupidity ,so i wont be needing that shovel ,and i agree it CANT BE DONE iv been at this game long enough to know that ,but i will have a

When you say that you lost her stormboy, did you look everywhere.....she may have got a belt of an electric fence that was connected to the mains and died on the spot. Died when i got home-should have stopped lamping long before i did. Killed her just tryi
