  1. You want to get one of those beakers with a lid on mate!
  2. Some bright spark was the first to mix bull and greyhound right? or bedlington? or wheaten? etc etc etc. WHY?
  3. been caught a few times with rabbits and been told to be on my way it might have somthing to do with the way you speak to them but onthe other hand iv been chased threatend and once got smack in the mouth You're right there-how you deal with the situation can make a big difference to the outcome. you could even blag permission with the right attitude.
  4. Lakies and patts......all brawn no brain. Bit like bull lurchers!! night night. x
  5. They are dogs,a bear and a boar! doing nothing very impressive.
  6. I'm out and im staying out-they'll never catch me :search:
  7. Plummers have nose, drive, guts and agility. the only fly in the ointment is speaking on a line.
  8. Iv'e thought about it too. General opinion is that the cross would be noisy hunters as plummers give tongue a lot when hunting. I think maybe 3/4 whippet 1/4 plummer may be ok. I would like to see one-i reckon they would be good vermin dogs. in fact i would try one if anyone breeds any.
  9. Must look like f*****g traffic lights when you lot are out!!
  10. A whippy stick is handy for these when lamping. Apparently.
  11. Got to agree with that-no bull required. Had a bitch a few years back 22 1/2 tts was one of the gamest lurchers i've seen and mustard on edible stuff too.
  12. That threads gone to shit!! Cracker scent!!
  13. Bloody hell-there's a blast from the past!! Aubry fryer. I suddenly feel old!!
  14. If the rabbits and foxes are spooky, you are definitely not the only one working it. Virgin land is hard to find in a lot of places. Try a bit further afield-and if you find some "green" rabbits keep it to yourself! Not many dogs catch big bags of rabbits that know the game, despite some claims.
  15. Ano things like this cant be helped but id like to think that if we ever came across a pregnant vixen we would release it, only if it was all good and well that is lol, cheers.Luke. protecting game birds? no releasing. global warming is causing allsorts of anomalies. I caught a pregnant doe rabbit last night and doe rats breed year round.
  16. You're right about the rspca. They have NO powers at all in law. I also agree we should be able to speak and print freely, but things are the way they are and the less attention brought to the "black sheep" the better in the long run imo. the subject has always been unpalatable to the general public.
  17. The problem is that deer hunting with lurchers has always been the "black sheep" of hunting. Even when "legal",lets be honest, the VAST majority of deer were poached. This combined with the public perception of the sweet little "Bambie" Ensured that deer hunting with running dogs was not viewed favourably by the great unwashed! Deer hunting with hounds got a lot more bad press than other hound work too. This is why most folk that were at it kept a low profile and went about the business quietly. :secret:
  18. Nice one, cheers for that. i'll give him a pm. Atb storm
  19. Looking good keeps. The pups growing like a fern-going to be a strong dog.
  20. Do they "handle" like hemp? the old spun nylon do but you never see them now.(maybe polyester is what i am thinking of,but the ones i had were called spun nylon)I dont like 4z or 6z nylon-they seem to tangle and catch on brambles-the curse of most of my ground!
  21. Does anyone make hemp or spun nylon nets,if so how much do you sell them for? Cheers, storm
