  1. Always worth a look, if you have any wooded roost areas then you are in for, in my opinion, the most fun form of pigeon shooting there is. They will be on the rape in the next few weeks right through to spring. Tabs
  2. Stealth, Mushroom, Scothunter & Heritage, nice to have constructive and positive input, appreciated. Dogsn', whilst i dont have the experience to comment, my pm inbox highlights a number of people who disagree with you, Some people will work them, others claim it just is not possible. I have spoken to 2 people who claim to work 100%ers and hybreeds of varying degrees, your experience suggests the opposite. What I have taken from this is that some have the time, character and experience to work them while others for reasons unknown fail. This is a valid discussion which will probrably

  4. What you really mean is it bites & behaves like a ball of fury when you try to do anything with it , spits , hisses & is generally antisocial ? You related to my missus? What I mean is he is a polecat and behaves like a polecat (something I was unaware of when I acquired him), no hissing or spitting but antisocial I will give you. Im not looking to fob him off on some unsuspecting owner, you have a suspicious mind Kay. Tabs Oh come on what did you expect it to behave like perhaps a little research before was needed , i dont think its you, it will behave like

  6. Ok here we go, I have kept and worked ferrets for several years, I handle all my animals every day but due to work/ family commitments etc only for a very limited time. The opportunity came up to take this Polecat and I made a snap judgement without the information of the handling time Polecats require. Yes I find the animal difficult to handle, unlike any ferret I have experienced which is why he requires rehoming after a very short period with me. The easy way would be to ignore my mistake and keep the animal in an unsuitable home, that way I would have avoided judgemental c
  7. I have a 16wk old Euro' Polecat hob (J McKay bred) which needs a new home. Having been mis informed about these animals i dont have the time or experience this animal requires so he needs a new suitable home. Will swap for 1-2 young fert jills to add to my team, prefer coloured. Open to alternative offers. Anyone considering without experience of Polecats please read the forums here first, these are hot handling animals, dont make the mistake I have. Bedfordshire
  8. Just starting to notice them moving over some set aside and failed crops in numbers, not young birds either. Popping out this afternoon for a short session. Tabs

  10. Get under the flight line, look for birds in the air not on the ground, and join www.pigeonwatch.co.uk. loads of info on there. Tabs
  11. Which ever one comes to the sholder and swings best! Seriously, if it dont fit you will always struggle and soon get pissed off. Tabs
  12. Panic over - she has turned up, although looking a bit thin and with a number of ticks. TY for the offers Fezz and Mark. Tabs
  13. Hi Waz, I have kept Light Sussex as dual purpose for the last 4 years, we have a good strain which produce 4-5 eggs a week and we also rear a few for the table each year. They are not fast to put weight on but reach a good killing weight without too much fuss. Take care to get the right stock whichever breed you get as many have been selectively bred for the show bench rather than production. Tabs
  14. TY Fezz, will wait and see if any closer available, she (Mrs) is due in next few days so prob' shouldnt go that far. Tabs
