Reckon they ought to count again, seems plenty about where the habitat is good and I actually think they are on the increase with nest boxes and habitat corridors for the birds.

I'm sure the majority would like to see a sparrow hawk fizzing about rather than a couple of hundred pheasant. I know to the game farmers/keepers it's down to pounds shilling and pence. It's a a balance but I know what I would rather see. It's not as if spars are in plague proportions. I live well out in the sticks in prime spar habitat and can go weeks without seeing one..........I see plenty of pheasant wandering around getting splatted on the road...........feckin cars eh ?

Just cause they're perched in a tree doesn't make them tree sparrows. Get some proper pics up so I can tell what they are.

Have loads of tree sparrows coming to my feeders, smart birds and not at all common in most areas these days
