  1. The taxidermist is a friend who is doing it for favours rendered.....will have to pay for the case but the fish itself would have cost, im guessing £300 - £500...pretty sure its costed by the inch. He's had it a while and i gave him a gentle reminder last week that it will look nice at my new place
  2. Caught him on a Kingfisher Butcher Ghosty. A big lad with a big kype, only fishing 2.5lb leader so was a bit nip and tuck
  3. Poetry Mackem, pure poetry.....twas as if i was back there......a battle i am sure you have had many an evening.
  4. This was a fish taken on a stunning Summers night, alas not 'one off the top' but on a Kingfisher butcher. Its at the taxidermist and will join a 2lb Grayling.
  5. Aaghh yes, i see what you mean, hadnt noticed. A couple of the fish were so eager to take the fly they wrapped the mono.....i mean leader around themselves....such is the quality of the fly
  6. Oh god yes, i like to think of the mono as 'the fly for all occasions'. i quickly took a number of sea trout and a leash of mullet for good measure in the space of 10 minuites I believe carp would regularly fall to it and our Polish friends have had regular success on many a balmy summers evening. I am wondering though what might be tempted on a Northern West coast sea pool in January
  7. Cant remember Hugh Falkus ever mentioning that pattern, intriguing. Most people assume Falkus was the godfather of Sea Trouting His box would be awash with 'teal blue and gold and weasal tail' ........however, for reasons only known to the great man himself, he never cast the mono fly . When the fish are fresh run and intent on running the river i find there is nothing better.........and im sure Hugh would agree that a fish caught on the mono tastes equally as good as one caught on a pheasant arsed special (size 14).
  8. Feck me i didnt know part of Charlie Bronsons rehabilitation was fishing
  9. Had 3 upto 4lb on a mono fly a few weeks back, wiil try and get some pictures up

  15. Most people would have to feel extremely desperate before they took any action which could result in someone's death. Have you got a wife and family? Because if you have, surely you know deep down the lengths you could go too to ensure their safety & well being when the shit hits the fan? Absoloutley Malt, to stab to death an intruder in the course of defending yourself/others etc i can go along with.....but how many of you would chase an intruder through the house.....up the garden path and stick him ? ........and yes i do have a wife and family and wouldnt want to be locked away fr
  16. Slippery slope fellas.........if someone breaks into my house i can kill them...........if someone breaks into my garage i can kill them, coz they might come into the house next...........if someone crashes their car into mine i can kill them coz they might be tooled up and do me in the ensuing argument. The bottom line is its generally frowned upon to kill people and im sure most of you ninja assasins wouldnt go straight for the eliminator if it happened to you
  17. Unless the deceased has multiple stab wounds to his back then the guys in the shit. Dont believe CPS wont prosecute because they will. Some CPS lawyer behind his desk will want to make a name for himself
