  1. Make sure you get back to the hotel, before dusk,..he he...because i heard "Dracula" is still on the hunt, down those parts ? ha ha ha
  2. i believe you are correct , on both counts,there,....lol incidentally, i had a word in their ear recently, regarding their barrel traps, told them ,it might be better to stock "british made" ones ? (if possible)
  3. Good thread that I enjoyed it thanks. Thats good you got it , i checked, it was actually titled "mole spades",...lol
  4. I wondered how the fishermen actually utilised, them ? Thanks for this,.... Most that tie their own flies. It's called dubbing. Another favourite for dubbing is the hair from the inside of a hare's ear. Because it is natural fur it traps air when it goes underwater, so it not only shimmers but moves as well giving a very natural look to a piece of fluff. TC Interesting stuff,cheers,...
  5. Aye Matt, that first example,is quite suitable (especially for the half barrel,....lol) cracking weight, it is too !
  6. Thats the thing, mate.People use different things. Each to their own, but ? Do a 'search' for an old 'topic', think it was titled " molecatching spade " or something ? You might find it interesting,....lol (probably a few 'threads' actually)
  7. For mole catching ? wouldnt be my preference,...
  8. I wondered how the fishermen actually utilised, them ? Thanks for this,....
  9. Cannot see why you had problems.... I gave you that advice, because the style of trap was new to you.. I wanted to impress upon you, the need to set the pin so that it would not fall back into the wee hole on the trigger plate.. I only meant to help you,.nothing more than that,...and I have certainly never laughed at you.. I don't find anything about you funny.... Right, I set my Talpex/Talpa style traps real fine ... in fact, I set all traps for moles,..nice and fine. Moles using this style of push up trap frequently force a fair bit of soil in front of themselves..this is a natu

  11. Really good, the standard of your work, is superb,....
  12. Well, thats surprised me a bit ! the mole having up to 4 litters a year, over there ? lol Yes mate, you are in a good place for molecatching, its not the first time ive thought that, about France ? I had a feeling, a molecatcher could do well, and youve just confirmed it,.....
  13. Thanks Ian, No doubt, you can expect an informative read, from them all ?
  14. Why you on the defensive ? i didnt say YOU agreed with it ? As you say, no one will know exactly,......but i certainly dont have any faith, in the figures being given, the last 6 or 7 years,...
  15. Who exactly is it , that puts these silly figures out , about the number of moles ? A member on here said he read, there was thought to be around " 62 million moles " in the UK ! Theres no way, i would accept that ? Ive also seen various numbers being 'peddled',that state anything between "33 to 45 million" Personally , i can see the national population, being BELOW even the lowest estimate ! Interestingly enough, ive often seen these sort of figures quoted, in the 'press' & articles about "the Guild" and "BTMR",....lol,....So 'no prizes' for guessing, whos benefiting from this ?
  16. "62 million moles" , what a laugh,..This is something else that annoys me, ive seen a number of articles, giving mole population estimates, & how its rising ? Anything between '33 to 45 million', is stated,....All this serves is Jeff & Brian, & others, encouraging people to get into molecatching.Personally, i dont believe the 'national population figures' wouldnt even reach, the lowest estimate ! This sort of thing, usually accompanies, articles about the Guild & BTMR,.....LOL
  17. No disrespect, but your not the only one,who had no one to take them out, & show them. I had to aquire traps & try myself, ( an old booklet was my only guide ) made mistakes, but eventually caught one ? As you say, folks nowadays have the added benefit , of 'molecatching footage',to help,..... so get some traps, and give it a go ? lol
  18. I used to be surprised sometimes, at the effort involved, and admired how they managed to produce a 'tunnel system', in such difficult conditions ? You only have to observe the size of some of the stones, ( in the molehill) they have excavated,......lol
  19. Me too, and their thin enough, to feel what your doing,....lol
  20. Well done, Matt. Looks a good system, you have there.
  21. These look excellent, Ian. I wonder if the XL, will do me ? As, thats the size i am, with disposable ones.
