  1. There will be pictures, IF there is something realistically ,thats going to be available,...Even though you come across as a "cheeky c...", fair play, for making your own.
  2. "it means nothing without pictures" ? Is that meant to be a smart-ass,comment ?,.....well, heres a smart-ass response then. What youve done yourself there,is what im trying to avoid having to do, myself ? lol
  3. I thought some of you might be interested to know, ive been busy with a project, trying to get a 'new' molecatchers spade, made. Its taken a while, but i have just received the 'prototype'.I will have to test it now,in the field, see if its going to be suitable, and durable enough, for the job.Its still early days, and NOTHINGS FINALISED,...lol....but the idea is, to have a 'spade' ready to use.Rather, than having to 'modify' some other 'tool', perhaps ? (which i have had to do,over the years)
  4. Depends on the individual. If your keen, check them the next day.Particularly, if its a 'single catch' type trap. You can see,if its went off,or not. With the half-barrel,your better leaving it longer, than this.Especially, this time of year ?,.....lol
  5. I still feel the 'duffus type',is the best. But accept, its a matter of personal preference, these days.
  6. Dont ! lol,....you use the 'duffus', dont you ? & the 'trapline', and i take it you have a few 'talpex' ? ,.....sounds like youve got everything you need, then,.......lol
  7. Things arent getting any easier, in this game, either. For example, a molecatchers turned up in my 'neck of the woods',last couple of years.Got his own quad, hes only looking for about £300 !!, for a six day week,at it.Full time hours !
  8. I know the feeling,...lol -----------------------Always work 2 steps ahead when it comes to dealing with the farming community, it'll save you getting ripped off. I must admit, some are not bad with me. I want £10 a moley, usually. Some would rather pay a fiver ! lol I dont consider it, unless im going to be into 'big numbers'. lol Oh, and im still 'skint', by the way,......lol

  10. Im well aware you have to be 'flexible', regards pricing. First big farm i done, 20 year ago.I got £4, a mole. lol Didnt have much of an idea, when the farmer asked how much i wanted to charge ? lol I suggested £3 a mole, he said " i will give you £4 "

  13. Dont doubt it, but it is, expensive ? lol
  14. Good thread this, enjoyed it,...lol
  15. Sounds the part ? would that be one, thats officially marketed, as a 'molecatchers bag' ?
  16. I currently use a bucket, bryn27.But i like to use a 'game bag', as well (from new preferably).Obviously, you will be going back to the motor, for a refill, but. If your like me that is,mostly a 'foot soldier'. The 'jack pyke' one done me, a few seasons. It has a wipeable or rinseable interior, as well.
  17. Hard to understand why the farmer agreed to control, using the 'ali phosphide'.Couldnt he get a trapper ? The kind of money he paid out, id be a bit surprised, if he couldnt get one ?,....lol
  18. That's precisely what I was trying to get at talpa ; but leave the trap just laying on the bottom of the run and, like Nicepix also said, the mole discovers it and back-fills it - so you're dammed if you do & dammed I you don't. But, like I said earlier: I do think it's a issue that could be solved with a slight design tweak. When I put Duffus traps in I try and bed the wires into the tunnel floor by pushing down hard on the trap. Obviously thesofter the soil the more effective that would be. With the Traplines I tried to bed the bottom wires in as advised in the instructions.
  19. Heres me thinking it was just me on the 'defensive' too,...LOL Dont worry 'Nicepix', i genuinely value your contributions, on here.
  20. Great post, very informative. They dont deserve it , honestly ! ha ha ( im only joking)
