  1. This is only the second time ave had this, in over 30 year, both were still warm. Wonder how common it is for this wee predator, to actively hunt the mole in its tunnel system, or is it more opportunistic ?
  2. Wish I could catch them in this position, every time with the talpex,...
  3. Hardly seen a wasp up here ! long while now, few year ago, plenty,..(Scotland)
  4. Unique work there, mate !
  5. A did notice though, Wales, didn't follow through, or adopt , a mass badger cull, like in England,.......telling or revealing, that ! (well , to me anyway)
  6. It's the naivety, that gets me,...cause they THINK they are SAVING wildlife ! ?
  7. Damn, rise of the 'Fox shooters' (of whatever type, lazy keepers among them) with all the technology to aid them now (yes, I resent them, generally !),..& 'cage trapping' farmers !....(yes, you read right,....well round here anyway) too scared to set a snare,...with the amount of countryside recreation users , nowadays,...all helps accelerate the gradual demise of utilising a 'wire' ,.......
  8. Good for you mate ! ,...heard the farmers gonna charge YOU, for them two, if you want to keep them ! (£50 each ??)
  9. Big decrease in "badger numbers" over large areas of England now, i would have thought ?
  10. You could be, right ?? ave been told on good authority they where £100 a pop, good few years ago,....but the person who informed me, didn't want to pay £20 for one now, currently?,........its no problem, they'll be catching moles before long, hopefully ?

  12. Thanks,...only thing is a paid alot more, than prices on the box ! ??

  15. Thing is now though, with this new snaring legislation, in Scotland..that wouldn't be allowed, anymore ! ??,...you CANNOT set a snare (on any good run) running under or through a fence line, now ????, indeed, you can't hang one ANYWHERE where there's even the slightest risk of entanglement, etc , to the target animal
  16. I wouldn't try & snare any type of hare here, often,..just occasional,...but I do remember the keeper actually got my mate a bit of paid work for hares once (at least 20 year ago now,....), he was a ferret , & dog man,..& the landowner sold this ground to the regional park, to be planted up with trees , & public access, etc Anyway, they were obviously too tight for proper fencing,..& I remember he was to snare the whole boundary, cause when the saplings got planted, the hares where going in & nipping them off, etc (no guards on them, & a can't actually remember if t
  17. A caught at, 9 1/2 inch, I remember & it was rabbit snares & tealers,....so tealer not quite long enough, but learned a trick , again , from Glen's book to get the height ?
  18. a watched them first mate,...seen where they were entering/exit , the field , etc,.....thats why I was successful, I think (cause I was new too it, I never believed I would catch anything !, same with the rabbits I managed to catch ! ) ?, but with the right snares, tealers, etc, & wee bit of field craft,.....well it was the Woodga/Waters gear too ! ,....& instruction from the book ? ,...lol,....my old man's neighbour asked me if I could get him one or two, for the pot, so a thought I would try,.....he made a great hare stew,..very tender the meat was too, he managed,...I thought it wo
