  1. I have to do a fair bit of 'stoney ground' ,mate & its a pain & also time consuming, to get the traps installed correctly ! lol ( and im slow enough,as it is ! ) ha ha
  2. It was often not advised to place the trap below a hill, because if the mole has to shift and remove soil, from the tunnel, its going to be around the vicinity of the hill.Think of where the shaft to the surface , will be ? But as others have expressed, its not impossible to catch there,.... Sorry, should have finished by saying, this increases the chance of the trap being sprung, by the soil & stones, etc that the mole may push in front , before he is in it ! lol

  4. Too much INFORMATION, being divulged here, lads ! ha ha If you reveal much more, you might do 'Jeff ' & ' Brian ', out of some candidates, for their mole course ? he he
  5. It depends what you want to charge by "the hour or acre" ? Some do, but they dont realise or care, that it can work out better ,for the farmer ? LOL Always try & get £10, a mole,.... (i know this isnt realistic,in some circumstances) but believe me, if your removing MOST of the moles, from the ground you do ? your worth it ! ha ha
  6. I hear what your saying, lol At least you made sure !
  7. Interesting, mate. I take it, there wasnt any moles already resident, there ? You take that correctly......but there is now. Lots. And lots. I catch many moles alive and they all have a vacation to this land. Cheers, LOL (what you like ?)

  9. Can ya catch them alive Matt??? I might put a film up of me doing that soon..... Get some footage posted mate.... I have done...... the trouble is that likkle Florence loves to munch them, so whenever I flick one out she's straight on it Not that I'd deliberately set the dog on a mole you understand that would be against the Hunting Act Ha ha ....I never flick 'em.... They all go onto a couple of fields that owe me money,,,, I'm having fun repopulating land of a debtor.... There's more molehills than grass now! ha ha Not sure if this link will work. but it's to a video of a s
  10. Goodness me, twenty traps for one mole !, what size of garden, was it ?
  11. My garden jobs out here average between an acre and over three acres - 15 to 40 traps. If you can do them in half an hour I'll set you on. Sorry, I was forgetting that French gardens are the same size as some of our smallholdings! Most of my 'garden jobs' are postage stamp sized and I expect I average three traps on each of those jobs. Happily, most of my work is agricultural these days; I've gone from doing six or so garden jobs a week, to about one or two... it suits me nicely to be honest I'd rather be left to my own devices on the bigger farm jobs than have someone co
  12. Slower than most, who have commented ....lol (must be why, im always skint !)
  13. Wonder how long it took him ? see if he done himself, out of money ! LOL
  14. In my opinion, its actually more to do with the 'run times', of moles,......
  15. last week i put 43 traps in a field over 2 and a bit hours (4 acre) and re-traced my tracks on the way out and pulled 13 moles from them a couple still gasping their last. and the next day pulled 17 more from the field, 6 of them from traps that had caught the night before and ended up after 3 day with 41 moles with 2 traps catching 5 moles....down deep in runs along a fence. i think nothing thease days of takeing 1-200 even more off some farms on the first visit i just wish i was further down south and could charge more per mole If your getting a lower rate per mole, than in some othe
  16. The mole activity is starting to peak,up where i am ,...its very obvious now, the 2014 survival rate, of young, has been good ? molehills everywhere ! lol
  17. I give him a week before a full blown tantrum, toys thrown out of the pram and post in the general section asking to be deleted. Shall we start a book? ha ha ha 5 days to hang in there and I win, whose the arse then? Honestly mate, its not personal,....the forum recently went through a period, where alot of members started 'acting up', (for various reasons) thankfully, its calmed down alot.I just chuckled , in reference to that.
  18. "but ive seen enough redundant Beagle traps to build a small wall" ha ha & theyve been endorsed by a "master molecatcher" from the "guild" too,....lol

  20. Jeff will never come on here He's too scared after the humiliation he received when he was on the BTMR forum Like Phil, I joined when the Guild first started. I spoke to JN a few times and kept asking about the decision making process within the Guild. He was very vague about it all, and got very touchy when I asked if he was going to set up a forum on the GBM site to give members the opportunity to discuss issues. I think his exact words were something along the lines of: "I don't like forums. People just ague with me" Says it all really There are lots of issues he
  21. I wonder if Jeff will ever come on here, in response, to any of the criticism, he gets ? lol or even Brian & Simon, is it ? from the register ?
