  5. patience mate, this is my first pup so im no expert, but the first time i took her lamping at 7month i knew she wasnt ready. mentally and physically. it was just my inexperience. so i did nothing more for a few months and shes grown and matured and is now flying on the lamp. as for daytime weve been out once and we blanked but this is her first season so im not expecting to much. if you know your dog you will know when the times right.. atb lad

  8. what does it mean by hardblood whippet ? i could be wrong mate but my understanding of a hardblood whippet is a non pedigree whippet, bred for racing, with greyhound in the make up. i think i read it on here a while ago. same breeding as my bitch, saluki x whippet/grey. atb mate

  11. well this is my first pup mate but the first couple i was getting within inches of squatters, convinced she'd seen it i would slip her and she would go running off into the night!! the next ones mate i have been waiting untill they lift or even lifting them with my foot sometimes. easy runs mate but building her confidence, strike etc. took it steady really. when shes ready we'l move on. atb mate

  14. after training my lab to an ok standard of obedience, by no means gundog standard, i made a school boy error of thinking i was cesar milan.. my saluki x whippet/grey soon found all the floors in my training!! the first time i put a lead on her she sat on her arse and screamed the park down! she was/is hard work and i can see why people give them a wide berth but for me its been part of the fun. shes only 10 months but we have an ok recall, could be better, and she walks to heal off the lead.. the rest is coming as she matures. the problem with saluki x's i think is that sometimes there mor
  15. i would agree with the lads on the farm collies, i have never owned one but when you go up the farmers path to ask for permission they always give you a f**king hard time!! they dont look hard either so the scrotes wont want to pinch it. atb lad
