Will The Minutes Silnce Work At The Football On Saturday.
jimster68 replied to scroat's topic in General Talk
if anybodys foolish enough to expect football fans in the north of england to give thatcher a minutes silence then they want thier fooking heads testing, the woman is a hate figure, she caused total misery to hundreds of thousands ,to this day farthers dont talk to sons ,mothers dont talk to daughters ,people who grew up together even now still hate each other ,the misery caused to communitys was unreal, pits and industrys were shut down and whole communitys were left to rot ,the hardship sufferd was emence, the real price of thatchers policies can be measured by ,divorce, suicide, poverty, and hards -
i worked at royal mail a few years ago and thier were rumors that eventually , if royal mail had thier way post men would work 9 to 5 as they do in other countrys ,its another way of getting out of paying premium or shift allowance, long gone are the days of smartly dressed posties most look like new age travelers ,its all cost cutting and we had better get used to it , people are just paying more for a worse service.

ive never tried to a bolt rat on purpose, but over this season i bolted loads whilst out ferreting ,some of the warrens that held good numbers of rabbits last year seem to have been taken over by rats ,at one large warren i bolted a dozen or so rats and none of the ferrets came out injured ,so i would say thet rats would rather bolt than take on a ferret . my dog enjoyed it ,but i nearly dived on a couple and wasnt overly impressed ,,,,,,atb....jim

kay, tumbling tomatos are worth a go ( just pop into a hanging basket at the end of may) feed well and put in the sun , they produce loads of cherry type toms and you dont need a green house, and no real care just dont let them dry out . ,. the only advice i would give anyone just starting out growing things ,is choose a sunny spot , if you dont have a sunny plot then your doomed if your trying to grow veg . thiers loads of things you can grow tubs if you havent got much space ,lettuce, spring onions , raddish ,carrots, dwarf french beans ,spuds, courgets (just add a spade full of horse muck)

only just seen this , ive had greyhounds suffer with this ,the problem is CHILLBLAINS ,when the tempreture drops cold the ends of the ears split and crack ,sometimes the dog shakes its head and it results in blood spatter ,ive herd that its mainly smooth coated typs that suffer whippetx or dogs with a high% of greyhound . what i found was as soon as the weather warmed up yhe problem dissapeared and ive never had it happen in the summer months . dogs that are prone to this only need to be exposed to freezing tempretures for a few moments to trigger off the problem again. to solve this i c

i think the hardest decisions we have to make are the ones that affect us personaly or those closest to us ,people always judge us on the decisions we make without being in the position themselfs , its easy to point the finger and critise , i try not to rush into making decisions myself ,and i hope people and family respect the decisions i make ,at the end of the day we all have our loved one best interest at heart but no ones perfect . atb.....jim

you say the bitch is 9 months old ?, why didnt she go onto a racing career? is she earmarked ? if shes been earmarked was she found to be UNSOUND ,or injured as a pup ? ive never known anybody breed a litter of greys to be pets ,as it costs over a 1000 pounds just to get them to schooling age (13/14 months). i think you have to ask yourself was the bitch deemed not worthy of persuing a racing career through injury? ......jim

its just going to take time bud ,as already said ,some racing greys are a bag of nerves ,they,ve never been socialised ,as pups they are put into paddocks at 8 weeks old and just left to grow up ,at 14 months they are taken to track and put onto a strickt routine , normally 23 1/2 hours lockdown and half an hour in the paddock ,all its life its been given a routine and surrounded by other greys ,no wonder its stressed out ,any banging about or strange behaviour going to make it freek , until the weather warms up ,stick a walking out jacket on the dog ,greys really suffer from cold (especially

its just a sad fact that some people attach very little value to thier dogs ,all too oftain dogs turn up in this condition ,it happens even more at this time of the year when the season comes to its end. THE SADDEST THING IS ,the same person will probably get thier hands on a another dog just in time for next season ,people overbreed ,sell pups too cheap or give them AWAY FREE if they cant sell them . thiers NO REASON for dogs to get in such a state ,it makes my piss boil. I help out with a bit of fundraising for LURCHER LINK and the state some dogs are found in is unbeliveable many have

ive just been tidying the veg patch up a bit ,and ive turned one plot over ready to plant onions and shallots , im also going to try growing garlic this year in hoping it will help deter pests from attacking everything , i had a pretty mixed growing season last year ,spuds got blight, onions were huge but some rotted ,broad beans did well ,runner beans did well ,leeks did ok , i also grew kale for the first time and im still eating it ,sweet corn was a disaster ,toms were crap, beetroot completly failed and parsnips never even showed ,i grew salad stuff spring onions, lettice ect in tubs with goo

Albino Been More Steady Then A Polecat Coloured Ferret
jimster68 replied to fieldsportsman's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
to be honest i was having the same conversation with another ferreter the other day ,we got on about what type of ferrets we both prefered ,colour ,sex ,age ,and why we prefered a certain type and size ect. and i commented that over the last 4 or 5 seasons i had mainly prefered working polecat types and silvers ,4 years ago i only had 1 albino jill who was 3yrs old at the time(so is now aged 7 yrs). 2 years ago i got another albino hob of a small to medium size . over time i would say the albino ferrets have turned out to be slightly more dosile but have worked tirelessly ,they have alway -
11 Rabbits With A Couple Of Mates And The Keeper Few Pics
jimster68 replied to lampingkid's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
nice write up and pictures bud, looks like youve picked up some great ferreting permission ,great to hear the keepers letting you take dogs aswell, look after the permission well and treat it with respect ,keepers are a great way of picking up other permissions, but they can also give you a bad name if you upset them. atb........jim -
ive been to a few different areas this year and on different peoples permission ,and the biggest bag ive seen was no more than 14 rabbits ,these people have ALL SAID rabbit numbers were down this year, areas where 20+ rabbits per outing were not uncommon no longer have the numbers they used to hold . last year my permission nr york would avrage 10/12 rabbits on a days ferreting ,this year some days i didnt catch any and ive only once got double figures this year . ...........jim

i think you will find its cooked bones that cause problems ,things like them cooked nuckle bones from pet shops or cooked bones left over from sunday dinner .cooking them drys them right out and they splinter like glass and are razor sharp. ive fed 3 dogs raw for over 4yrs and never had a problem ,ive fed them full rabbit, lamb bones ,chicken carcass ,ox tail ,turkey necks and just about anything else i can pick up cheap enough . my younges dogs 2 and a 1/2 years old and he has never eaten anything else but raw meaty bones ..never had any problems........jim

i did some late ferreting last year and i WONT be doing it again ,a farmer asked me to ferret a bit of wood that he has seen some rabbits in so against my better judgement i agreed ,it was a fecking nightmare ,the ferrets found a nest of young and were moving around the warren with them ,i took me the best part of 3 hours to retrieve the ferrets ,i would dig down 3 or 4 ft and the ferrets would move on chasing young rabbits about ,deffo not for me . having said that ,if the area your going to has shallow burrows or its easy to dig then you could give it a go ...............atb what ever you d

did you go back to the previous warren you had just been ferreting ,the coller could have sliped of the ferret and mabe you hadnt noticed ,then when you used the ferret again you might not have noticed the coller missing . also sometimes collers can come of when ferrets get cought in purse nets if coller wasnt put on tight enough in the first place . only time i had a bad reading from my mk3 was when batteries in coller was were low on power .reciever was showing coller down ten feet .it was nr end of day out and me and a mate decieded to start digging down as ground was very sandy and we we
