    Very strange that as I never clean my rifles but today for some reason I decided to clean my .243 as I got some different ammo last week and am zeroing it tomorrow. Never had any problems apart from the 17 HMR which I hardly ever use seems to be not the most accurate.....probably needs a clean as I know they are a filthy round but I haven't got a cleaning kit. What do you use on your HMR Stav ?

    I have great memories of the good old rabbitting days . Picked up a 1200 acre permission in the Scottish Borders in 1985 when it was moving with rabbits. We would shoot ,ferret and lamp it taking thousands but it never seemed to make any difference there was always the same number the following year. I remember going up one day with just the terrier and the shotgun, she would flush rabbits for me from the gorse and I shot 77 Another day just the terrier and the shotgun again , after shooting 10 rabbits the pin broke in my gun so spent the rest of the day with the terrier ma

    Fingers crossed the bird flu doesnt ruin your season , would be such a shame. Not much you can do about it though with migratory birds hitting our shores.

    Yep this was old school lamping, no thermal or nv . The crack of the HMR was very loud as it was extremely still . My next outing will be when it's dark and breezy ?

    Forecast last night stated cloudy and a breeze .......WRONG......on arrival at my ground it was a bright full moon and not a breath of wind which made for challenging shooting. Took the HMR out for an airing and managed a few .

    It's all to do with AIHTS ...Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards. Fenns became illegal in the UK to trap stoats from 1 April 2020 as they failed the AIHTS standard .......tests showed they failed to kill stoats reliably within the AIHTS timeframe of 45 seconds.
