  1. Less of the rickety ? They should be banished to clay grounds only ?
  2. I would ban those topsy turvy guns too and only allow traditional sxs ?
  3. After speaking to a farmer yesterday she said she had heard foxes yapping on near the farm so I said I would have a look last night. Well the moon was full and very bright so didnt expect to see anything but you have to be in it to win it. I got tucked in the shadows of a small copse and put the caller out , cub call playing and within minutes had a fox coming from the opposite wood , let it come to around 100 yds and job done , a vixen cub. By now it was like daylight so packed up and went home .
  4. You are wrong Tim ,why do you think roe are the foresters enemy? You only have field roe where you are and that is why you mostly see them thrashing hedgerows but if you look carefully you will find saplings frayed ? Here you go ...this is what I find all the time.
  5. They do mate , I see it all the time on young saplings and they love willow too up to an inch diameter . Unfortunately you are wrong on this occasion and it is definitely roe ?
  6. Yep another reason to whack em as they will attract unwanted attention from the dog men ?
  7. Same here , plenty rounds super sonic. Going to use up this brick and switch to Eley I think.
  8. Yes mate it was some drag , a lot fitter and younger but still plenty steam left in me yet. Good luck with getting the fallow ground then I can come and give you a hand stacking them up ??
  9. I'm hoping to get away on the Sika next weekend.....mate had 14 stags in a kale field this week.
  10. Havent done my best ground yet , hopefully get a few in next few months ?
  11. I prefer to shoot foxes too but we dont have that many of them either ?
  12. I remember coming back from Scotland regularly with over 100 rabbits , skinning them and selling the lot on a Sunday morning in the working mens clubs ...couldn't get enough , now they are dog food or fox bait
  13. Gone are the days when I've leased stalking , I've spent a fortune and nothing left to achieve. All my shooting is free but I still pay for the odd day , I would rather stalk different pieces of ground rather than the same patch . Off on the Hinds in November which I'm looking forward to ?
  14. I wouldn't call it brutal just efficient, the guy is just doing his job. If I was a ranger I would be brutal too , not a job for someone who fannies about ?
  15. Good stuff mate but a blind man can shoot deer in Oxford ??? place is moving . Remember I once went on a 2 day trip and shot 15 ,mix of fallow , roe and munty. The thing that annoys me is all the guys that have leases and permission to good numbers of deer but dont do the job... I have limited amounts and do OK but if I had ground with good numbers would do a lot more. No wonder the country has more deer than ever when lots of ground is held by those that are unable to manage the population....about time it was passed on to those that can do the job.
  16. An old buck as he has no pedicles left. Big ,heavy coronets, a real nice buck.
