    Seeing as the weather was glorious today I went out in search of squirrels and hoping for a pheasant. As I walked up the farm track a rabbit bolted from the hedge which I duly bowled over .Then I noticed a few pheasants skulking up a hedgerow and seeing as I never had the dog with me today didnt think I would get a shot as they prefer to run. I cut them off further up the hedge and was surprised that 3 flushed and I shot all 3 ? Took me ages to find one of them as it landed on top of a tall hedge. I continued my round and sneaked up on a few magpies and squirrels and also

    Well I cleaned the .243 yesterday and went to check it this morning. I took some 58 grn v max which I need to use up and my new Winchester to check. Before I got to where I was going to zero a squirrel popped out the hedge 50 yds away , couldn't resist so popped in a 58 v max and ruined his day. Zero seemed fine but put a few on the target and they were fine putting 2 rounds inside a penny at 100 yds and a couple touching at 150 yds , so happy with that. So cleaning the barrel made no difference at all ...rifle shot the same.
