Shame YouTube decided your vid wasn't suitable - it isn't available anymore However - please can you tell your boss about SongBird Survival? go to www.songbird-survival.org.uk - we are in the middle of a hooha at the moment as we are doing a corvid cull experiment in March - it's got the bunny huggers in a bit of a tizzy! There's a petition to sign to support the work too if you go to: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/corvid_predation_research/ Anyway, hope I catch the next vid before the YouTube moderators do.... G. Interesting.... Please tell us more, George...?? -
A great day's shooting with Andyfr1968!
andyfr1968 replied to pianoman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Simon, it was a pleasure to meet you and Josh and eat some of Jo's lovely sarnies!! 5 pence piece sized groups at 60 yards with springers??? Surely you must need PCPs to achieve those levels of accuracy?? JOKE!!!!! I had a great time, mate. In a way I'm glad we couldn't get to shoot in the woods, it's been a long time since I had the chance to do that kind of testing and I was very happy with the results. It's a handy tool that 52, ain't it and your 77 shot faultlessly Looking forward to next time and thanks again, my friends. Cheers. -
Thanks for the comments, lads Simon really does know his stuff. His training as a sniper is very much still with him, VERY handy with a rifle!! It's always great to meet up with folks from here, I've met a good few during the time I've been on and all have been first class. A shared interest and love of shooting and the countryside and all that goes with it. Cheers

Hi, folks I'd just like to say a big thanks to Simon and Josh for a top day out Met up at Simon's house at around 12, had a cuppa , then off to one of his permissions about 5 mins drive away. I was introduced to the farmer and his wife ( and grumpy dog...) then we set off to do some sighting in and a bit of practice. The plan was we were going to spend some time plinking and trying out each other's guns, Simon with his two AAs and his 77, I'd fetched my 90 my 52 and my King Ratty (too cold for the Ratty though, so it stayed in the car) then we were going to go for a mooch through

Nice one, Si. She'll make an honest man of you yet!!
-
Hi, Monkey. I've a King Ratty and I really rate them Some points though..... Don't believe Crossman's claim of 200 plus shots, you'll get around 150 reliable shots from the 88g bottle so you need to keep track of how many shots you've fired. NO NOT use it when it's below around 5 deg C, Co2 does not work when it's cold, feck all power. Always put a little silicon grease or oil on the thread and face of the bottle when you need to change them, otherwise the 'o' ring will be fecked in no time. A drop or two of synthetic oil on the bolt after a sesh helps to keep the seal

Cheap crap air rifles for bunnies

I'd agree with that. They are what they are. Pretty much all of the folks defending cheaper brands admit that they know they're limited to short to med range shooting and fair play to you for that However, my HW90's now about 12 years old, has shot tens of thousands of pellets and shoots now as well as it did when it was new. It's never given me a moments bother (none of my HW's ever have...), how many Hatsan or whatever owners will claim that in 12 years time?? I love Dianas. I'm on my second 52 at the moment. The one I have now is .177 and it's a very handy tool indeed for those -
You really are bang off side, fella Who do you think you're trying to impress, Mole but you're making a proper twat of yourself, fella....
-
Handbag's back in it's holster now..... If you like the feel of the TX, mate, you'll not go far wrong, they're one of the very best springers available Good luck with your search. Cheers
-
I've no proplem at all with cheaper rifles what I do have a problem with is folks who make sweaping statements on a subject they clearly know sod-all about. Cheap guns can kill the same as a more expensive one kept within their limits, that's not the issue but to make some of the statements you have done on this thread based on the very limited experience you clearly have is just plain daft, mate.

Fair comment, Matt, the car analogy probably wasn't the best but you know what I mean I gusss I was falling back on cliche's from way back, I must be showing my age... What car do you drive, BTW....? Cheers This post is rising to new levels of irony, the wife drives a Skoda Octavia turbo diesel! I have motorbikes... Motorbikes??? Let me guess...... A CX500 and you think all modern bikes are rubbish 'cos you once sat on one in a shop and it felt a bit funny.... Tosser.

Now how can I put this without sounding rude....?? Sod it, I can't. Mole, you are giving folks advice on a subject you clearly know feck all about and I think that's bang out of order Very bad manners IMO. If you ever reach the point where you can give some sensible advice based on proper experience then please feel free to pitch in but until you reach that point, keep your inexperienced ramblings to yourself. Now run along and polish your Hatsan I've never read such consistant bollox on this part of the forum.

I'm glad you got there in the end, Brad, just don't get complaisant It's all well and good taking advice and good on for asking in the first place but don't forget there's not substitute for hands on practice.... Cheers

General advice on mounted gun lamps!
andyfr1968 replied to mozza_morallez's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I'm still stuck in the stone age, mate, I can't stand gun mounted lamps with wires and crap hanging off my rifle I use a Led Lenser head torch and it does all I could ask. I bet I'm the only one on here who still uses one though!! Cheers. -

Well said that man -
Shooting a Hatsan I can say that the reviews can be a bit off, but everyone has their own opinion. The gun smith I met today rates Hatsans highly and sells a lot of them, people would not recommend them to their friends if they were that poor. I can get good grouping, good power and if I drop it in a 2 foot deep rut I have the staisfaction of knowing if it is bu99ered I have not just lost hundreds... OK, I've got to take you to task on a point or two, Mr Mole..... I'm not saying Hatsans are 100% sh*te, they are good value for what they are (cheap tat) but I get the impression that i

Well....????
-
No I'm not I'm actualy 6'5" with stupidly long monkey arms and can't type Don't worry, mate, we all have moments like that!!! Best thing to do is just get down to your local shop or club and try to handle as many as you can, if they feel short it's no big deal to have the stock extended like your shotgun's.
-
I thought the same thing, HH. Also DS, what are you resting your gun on?? If it's resting on something solid, it'll kick your shots way high. Cheers.
