  1. Looks like a nice litter there mate wait till they start eating i always find kitts to be like eating machines hope you have plenty in the freezer LOL good luck with them hopefully you will get some good workers from them one of our jills is due to drop 11th may CANT WAIT
  2. As said mate the bigger the better room permitting our court is 2 big sheds with a aviery in between with pipes toys etc in the sheds and aviery it houses 10 ferrets but could quite easily house 15 We are lucky that we have the room and the more room that is taken up with ferret court the less lawn i have to mow and i hate mowing so
  3. Well done mate for giving them a new caring home with a bit of handling i'm sure they will come good for yer in my oppinion there is no such thing as nasty ferret just a bad owner in the 1st place who didn't handle it enough when it was young
  4. Take the hob away mate so she can have her kitts in peace regards handling them there are different oppinions on this but as already said if it's your 1st litter leave them untill you see them start coming out the sleeping compartment GOOD LUCK with them mate
  5. The poor little mite proberly came from a broken home i'm surprised the court didn't order that he had a day out at the fair paid for by the tax payer it makes me puke
  6. It can be quite difficult to determine a ferrets age the teeth are normaly not as pearly white on old ferrets as they are on young uns other than that i'm not sure how to pinpoint an age if you can at all ?
  7. Yes right go and give the vet 35 quid for him to tell you yes it's earmites ????? Then give you some crap for another twenty ,??? Just get the anti paracite from the pet shop , if left untreated ear mites can be unpleasant for ferrets they loose there balance and go down hill , so I wouldn't hang about will cost you 4.50 at the petshop job done , So true some of our's had ear mites a few months ago used beaphar ferret spot on and now thankfully all gone it also treats any fleas etc
  8. He looks a smallish hob stealthy ?
  9. Prefere to use a vasectomised hob than the jill jab and in the long run it's a lot cheaper our robbing bast*rd vet quoted us £35 per ferret No this is not a miss print £35 per ferret so you can imagine what i told him to do with his jill jab
  10. The hobs are randy basta*ds this time of year mate the hornier he gets the worse he will get show him a jill through the bars and it won't be long before his eyes are bulging and his tongue is hanging out it's like being at a lap dance NOT i have ever been to any lap dances
  11. Had loads of jills that have worked up to 8yrs old and worked quite well but personaly i think ferrets are at there best at 3 to 4 yrs
  12. Hope it all works out well for yer mate well done
  13. I like most other's were brought up using springers the old diana's bsa meteor's etc etc and at the time loved them i then with age moved onto shotguns rimfires 222's etc untill recently last year i bought a pcp fac airarms s410 hopeing it was going to be a bit more use than my old springers I was not dissapointed it is a fantistic gun killed hundreds of rabbits etc with it already i now actualy prefere it to my rimfire i am by far no expert on air rifles and do not have any experience with MODERN springers but compared to my old springers this s410 is the difference between a rolls royce and
  14. If they are so well handled whats the ferking great glove and holding the ferret at arms lengh all about I thought the days of gloves with ferrets was long gone the ferret keepers of today dont need gloves if there ferrets are handled properly
  15. Reminds me of the old poacher that got me hooked on ferreting donkeys years ago the stories and ways of ferreting the old boys swore by used to fascinate me the likes of jack hargreeves etc are a dying breed some of the old ways are still in practice today and some are just not practical anymore but they are still great to dig out the archives now and then to remind us how it used to be done LOVED THE CLIP
  16. Sorry mate for being negative but breeding all 7 jills was not a sensible move even if you do find homes for all the kitts some of them are bound to end up in the wrong hands and end up in rescue centres if there lucky or even worse live a short life of neglect and misery You should have asked advise 1st mate before breeding that lot
  17. Nice bit of footage mate well done
  18. Never had much to do with air rifles since the old bsa and diana's when i was a lad always used the silenced rimfire then a year ago i bought an airarms fac s410 and i love it now prefere to use it over the rimmy highly recomended air rifle very reliable i assume the non fac one is just as reliable
  19. Only ever single knot spun poly pull the knot nice and tight and it's fine never get any slipping knots
  20. Is that in between feeds and changes Y.I.S Leeview yeh and making the tea
  21. As paulus said round the bottom then pull the twine through the slit at the top then back down to the bottom round the bottom and do it again I never got on with the loomis needle when it came out i went back to the normal type i have 16 of these and my niece fills them up for me BLESS HER lol
  22. Have made and used both and spun poly wins simply because it don't need the after care hemp does
  23. Good luck with your new permission mate we are getting the same with the 22rimfire lamping a lot of the rabbits that are full of young but we have to show willing or else they will get someone else in to do it i'm sure you will still have plenty there left come the new ferreting season as said good luck with it
