Do a bit of fishing and lamping with the rimfire later in mid summer

We always put a old baking tray in the court aviary in the summer put about 2inches of water in it and one of our jills puts her head under the water and pushes herself along the bottom of the tray the mad cow. The rest of them just bounce around in it GREAT FUN TO WATCH

Mate believe this or not ,i was up at the place i get my tripe and beef for the dogs when i bumped into this guy who had a whippet cross dog who was also getting dog meat from the supplier .So i got talking to this sausage head and he was telling me about how good his wee dog was on the lamp ect ect and that he also kept 20 odd ferrets.I also keep working whippets and ferrets and the conversation was going well untill he dropped this fooking clanger into the mix.He says to me that his ferrets never ever kill as he snaps their teeth out with pliers!!!!! I thought he was just yanking my chain b

Thank god things like ferret welfare have moved on ferrets used to be kept by some in dreadfull conditions and fed even worse. what with websites like this one etc newbies can pick up info how to look after there ferrets properly. What equipment they will need to go ferreting and how to use it properly

Never heard of them or see any point or advantage in leaded purse net cords ?. leaded bottom line on long nets thats a different thing all together

Its been 2 bad seasons on the trot for us the rabbits are just not there think its a combination of mixy and V.H.D we had a couple of good days but mostly 3s and 4s in areas where normaly we have been getting double figures for years so not sure whats going on ?

The main thing rabbits give to ferrets is fleas never had anything serious given by rabbits -
Dont waste your time mate the best thing for it and all the wildlife they kill is a .22 throught the head you will never tame one

Does his dads 3 legged dog hair course too? if this chap can get 32 out of a 10 holer i think 16 is a reasonable number. this would of been on his own farm so no one else was allowed to touch it and it would be 30+ years ago when there were less people at it Not saying i believe or disbelieve the mans statement 16 does seem a hell of a lot but i suppose anythings possible. But what is not right is i started ferreting 35yrs ago and there were far more people that ferreted then than do now ferreters have gone down in numbers over the years not up
