  1. Totally agree with you malt where we can use locators but it's not always a lot of good a lot of what we do is on the South Downs and they are deep solid chalk warrens you have a job getting a purse net peg in the ground. You couldn't dig it with a jcb let alone a spade. Been doing this area for donkeys years never lost a ferret yet. But as said a locator is a must in most circumstances
  2. Great pics mate nice open warrens
  3. It can take years to build up a decent team of ferrets all to have em nicked by some thriving scumbags it happened to us about 10 years ago years of selective breeding gone over night We managed to get most the bloodline back through mates and gamekeepers etc where the bloodline originally come from but it took a few seasons to get a team of ferrets back we are happy with Hasten to add our ferret courts are now hard wire alarmed we have cctv and security lights it might seem a bit over the top to some but we are not prepared to have all our hard work and ferrets you get attached to taken by
  4. If the jills can't bolt then I wouldn't breed off them ....... Totally agree with socks only breed off your very best Jill all our Jill's work fine but we have 2 exceptionly good Jill's and these are the only two we breed from the others are spayed. We also have a vasectomised hob if we don't want to breed at all in a particular year to take the other 2 Jill's out of season
  5. Ferreting now been allocated to a member Happy hunting to all

Been contacted by a lady today about ferreting a big 4 acre garden down in West Sussex We have got to much on at the moment and it's a bit to far out for us so if anyone is interested in doing it message me for the details it sounds like she's got quite a few there This may suit a newbie to the sport all the best max
  8. What exactly do you mean by fixed? Is that the same as neutering? ATB kinga Yes mate that's what it means this will stop them trying to sh*g each other in the breeding season and they can be kept together all year being neutered doesn't affect there working ability in any way
  9. Hi all permission now been allocated to a site member all the best max
  10. 16. We got done years ago now our ferret court is hard wire alarmed we have a security light and cctv cameras We vowed never to allow these thieving scumbags to nik our team of ferrets again that took years of selective breeding to get the best workers we could only to have some low life destroy it in seconds The crazy thing about it is some of the best stock I've ever owned I've had given to me by other ferreters. So why do these wan**rs feel they need to steal them ?????????

  20. Well done mate longnets are a very important part of the ferreters kit Glad you found how useful they are you will find yourself using them more and more. Hope your next trip is just as successful as this one
  21. Antis mate half of these idiots don't even know what they are anti about it just gives them something to belly ache about. Regards stoats as stealthy said our ferrets have bolted loads of them over the years with no problems it can be a good sign if a stoat is about normally means a good supply of rabbits if he ain't already bolted them out the warrens
  22. Great pics and video footage mate well done.
  23. Sorry swanny the ground was allocated the next day after posting itAll the best in finding some more permissions in your area
  24. Kept 10 to 15 ferrets in our courts for donkeys years never had one jabbed for distemper never had any problems One of the biggest killers of ferrets other than old age is lymphoma (cancer) which unfortunately can't be injected against. So save your money mate and good luck with your new ferreting career it's a great pastime
  25. Did you use agouti? I think fourteenacre have taken over his business .That's right mate Nigel from agouti is now part of forteenacre the site has had a facelift all the stuff you need on there
