Driving into jaywick always reminds me of one of those "wrong turn" type horror films, absolute s.hit house. A few years back, in between jobs, I was delivering white goods and TVs and such like. I wasn't taking it as a dig, sounds like you have a similar set up and I totally get what you're saying re: these big recreation type things. Just trying to cash in on something that's long gone. I used to frequent a club called "Milwaukee's" back in the early 90's, equinox etc. was the other side of Bedford/Luton sort of area. The place is wasteland now. They piped up a handful of years back, doing "reunion" nights bla bla....very much turned out as you spoke of above, over the hill tits and ket head kids....not for me sir. No over the hill tough guys or their bleached blonde bimbo's here. Just around 100 max like-minded people of a certain age listening/chatting and dancing to three old djs who'd been in the thick of it around these parts playing some absolute bangers! It's a guest list only type of thing, and if anyone dared turning up in a hi Vis, white gloves or blowing a f***ing whistle, they'd be promptly shown the door! ...oh, I also see Andy (Weatherall) a few months before he past. At the red rooster festival of all places, playing old 60's rockabilly type stuff! A great (and very messy) few days...

This is how we used to do it...couple of my mates off the estate used to put on the "proper stuff" raves from around 90/91. Still matey with a few people from that scene. Eclipse/kite high/Braintree barn etc. A couple of the dj's from back then have set up a little thing that gets together about three times a year. Proper old school. Swim says shrooms are on average £10 a g. £25 for 3g. Looking at the dosing on that bar, swim says 3 to 5g of shrooms, so £30/40 a bar wouldn't be out of the way. Seems steep, but I know plenty pay it for raw shrooms.... Yokel
