I am after a couple of Kayak/Canoe Paddles, DOUBLE BLADED preferably local to the Devon & Cornwall Border to prevent P&P and the hassle. They don't have to be anything to write home about and prepared to do minor repairs, just cheap, functional and local. SAVES ME MAKING THEM OR PAYING FOR NEW, Anyone?

It's the 'Four Burrows Hunt' Country, they cover Bodmin down to the Lizard/Lands End. The Kennels are a bit away from Hayle though.

Gnasher, it would be an avairy bred bird. I know that....but aint it the equivalent of trying to get a working patterdale to do juggling tricks ?..... Lol lol no Gnasher. To get them come to you it proves that there steady and usually turn out to be top breeding birds for you. agghh ok fair enough........ive got a little tribe of Goldfinches here they hate my f****n guts and wont come near me....spose im just jealous But how would you feel if they did let you close to them or even come to you to see what treats you have for them? and to be able to have the trust of a bird like J

Honestly mate, this subject has been done to death! There will be several long and debated Threads on this Site about the merits and negatives.

I know a guy who a/ looks at the shape of the Eggs and Magnet tests them, then when hatched does the scruff of the Neck test and then the Magnet test again. He still isn't 100%..lol.

Time to worry is if you hear chirpy, chirpy, quack, quack.....lol.

I would suspect it isn't wild Goldy, going by the Nest type and location.

Releasing Captive Bred Birds Into The Wild.
Shamo replied to fireman's topic in Cage and Aviary Birds
Don't do it mate, there are a number of reasons why not, but only a couple, maybe, to do it. You'll be alright if you can prove the ancestry, legally, or you can gift them to someone with a written statement. -
I don't know, but I would think if there are any hot/cold or humid/dry spots inside, the Fan is mainly at fault. I know the more expensive R-Coms have a gentler Fan, which helps with the quietness.

What Terrier To Get For My 2 Boys
Shamo replied to BROCK DOG's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I rarely if ever recommend Terriers for bushing and ferreting. Beagle crosses are good little dogs for that job or even a nice little Beddy x Whippet, not ideal to have a Lurcher in the Bushes, but it is nice to have them about a set of holes with a Ferret in. -
I went to get some Pigeons off a mate in Wales. He let out the old and young spare Birds, within five minutes there were 4 less young. Two Cars, one House Roof and a Road ended wearing them as Hats!! Never bothered....lol.

Plenty of stuff out there for Chickens and Pigeons, for the Birds and the Housing. Prevention is better than cure and this time of year Mites are prevalent. Trimming the Feathers around the Vents may also help.

'Cornish Game' (Indian Game) are not too bad for noise, good meat, nice Eggs, hardy and live a long life. There are things you can do to help with noise, just depends how tolerant your neighbours are. The biggest thing is communication, work with them and let them see you are doing your best. Remember there has to be a limit too, don't take the mick with numbers. Crumbs I have mellowed!....said it before though, a clever man learns from others mistakes.

There is confusion with the R-Com Suro Incubator series. There is the one, that has a separate water pump, which sits in a Cradle and rocks, like the Brinsea 40 and 20 and there is the one which is flatter, which has a Reservoir for water inside and turns the Eggs on a Tray. The latter is the £300 and more one. Apparently the dearer one is recommended for Falcon Eggs and any other expensive Eggs, with a proven better Hatch rate. It does EVERYTHING on it's own (you just make sure there is water), turn it on, put the Eggs in and 21-22 days later Chicks. It is quieter than most Incubators too. I

If anything is written enough times, a lie becomes the truth! There are those who say a well known Pitbull flat out quit and others say he just could not have made it. The ones who say he flat out quit, usually, are the ones who breed stuff with none of that Blood. It has been written that he flat out quit and was a cur.....so, he is a complete cur!? I had a long, in depth conversation with Kemmer over a BBQ (This guy has culled Pups who have been unwilling to show any aggression at their Food Bowl) I know what his opinion was (a close trusted friend of his was there and gave Kemmer his versio

You are a dangerous and stupid man UK and I hope with this last Post people can finally see it for themselves!! This Post also shows how genuine a Game Fowl enthusiast you really are..........may you be given all you ask for.

Nice Birds them, with good weights, thanks for the reply. I wouldn't mind a trio sat in my Yard.

The Bostons you have, are they Pea Combed or straight mate? Bottom and top weights too please?

Some guys I know have been hatching Chicks since December and have finished for the year. Some started a little later, but just finishing now and some guys have not long started and will finish by end of April. They all have good personal reasons, but different strokes for different folks.

I would build a long wooden Nest Box, with four solid sides, long enough so the actual Nest can't be reached by the Cock reaching in and high enough so the Hen can get off the Nest easily. Get a Jigsaw and cut out a small vertical Oval in the end, just big enough for a Hen to get into the Nest Box. Obviously you need to put a Hinged top, to collect Eggs. It is easier to stop a Cock doing it than the Hen, so be thankful for that. Provide year round Grit and Shell to your Birds, even crunch up the Shells of Eggs you eat. There are lots of ways to try to stop Egg eating, some work, some don't, bu

I lived in a Cottage, where my Yard of Birds were 15 metres from 46 couple of Hounds and 30 metres from a full 'Flesh House' and a Fox came and took a 4 year old Cock, leaving behind a full Leg on a 'Tie out', during the day! I washed down, drew in the Hounds to feed and went in for Breakfast, the Wife hung the washing out, where the Birds were, 15 minutes later they all kicked off, I ran out the back Door to take a look, then I got to the end Cock, I saw the Feathers and eventually the Leg on the Tie Out. A Fox checks it's area every night, covering a round trip of 10 miles and more. You m

It seems nicely made, but if I can say a 'but' lilthedon, Each section should be only just big enough to fit a Cock in, laying down, Legs tucked underneath, with Wings in tight to his side. The Dowel stopping a hasty retreat. OK for a short journey AND you must make sure you put them in the 'Show Pens' asap when you arrive. I would change the dimensions and design slightly and you won't want to go back to having to pack Boxes in your vehicle. I personally prefer the safety and security of a well made old fashioned single Cock Box. I have built and used the above type several times though, jus
